Type: MVC-I, Leaving the Scene of an Accident
Text: On 5/17/10 at 1738 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a single motor vehicle collision near mile 8.9 of the North
Tongass Highway. AST responded to the scene. Investigation revealed
that a female driver was speeding northbound on the highway when she
lost control of a 1996 Volkswagen sedan and had a near head on collision
with several vehicles prior to crossing the center line and colliding
with a ditch causing serious damage to the vehicle. The driver may have
sustained an injury to her arm as a result of the collision. Prior to
AST arrival, the female driver fled the scene in a second vehicle which
had stopped, the vehicle departed the area south bound toward town.

Type: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (one count), Endangering
the Welfare of a Child (two counts)
Text: On 5/15/10 at 2150 hours, Alaska State Troopers and US Forest
Service Law Enforcement responded to a report of a man cutting trees
down in the campground near Ward Lake. Upon arrival at the fallen trees,
Troopers contacted Paul Trujillo, age 39 of Ketchikan, who was
attempting to drive off in a 1993 Ford pickup with his two
minor-children. An on-scene investigation lead to Trujillo’s arrest for
DUI. Trujillo was taken into custody without incident and remanded to
the Ketchikan Corrections Center for DUI and two counts of Endangering
the Welfare of a Child. Trujillo was issued a federal citation by US
Forest Service Law Enforcement for cutting down the trees.

Text: On 5-17-10 at 1723 hours AST in Palmer responded to East Bogard
Road and Armor Court in Wasilla for a reported 2 vehicle motor vehicle
collision. Subsequent investigation revealed Annia Braisher, age 28, of
Wasilla was westbound on Bogard Road when she collided with the rear end
of another vehicle driven by Kurt Larsen, age 19, of Wasilla who was
stopped for a vehicle in front of him making a left hand turn.
Braisher’s vehicle sustained approximately $2500.00 in damage and
Larsen’s vehicle sustained approximately $500.00 in damage. Braiser was
transported to MatSu Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Two
minor children that were in Braiser’s vehicle were uninjured. Larsen
reported no injuries as well and all subjects reported wearing their

Text: On 5-17-10 at approximately 2100 hours, AST in Palmer arrested
Joseph A. Diliberto, age 20, of Wasilla for an outstanding $10,000
Felony Arrest Warrant for Failure to Comply with Conditions of Release
on the original charges of DUI, DC, DWLR, Assault 3rd , Harassment 1st
and 2nd, Failure to Stop for OFCR 1st. Diliberto was contacted as a
passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Big Lake Road near Parks
Highway, Big Lake. Diliberto was subsequently taken into custody after
a brief altercation in which he refused to exit the vehicle and resisted
arrest. Diliberto was subsequently arrested for the outstanding warrant
as well as Resisting Arrest, VCOR and MIW 5 after AST discovered that
Diliberto was armed with a handgun during the contact. Diliberto was
remanded at MatSu Pretrial Facility and held on a total of $20,000 bail
and court approved 3rd party.

Type: Burglary I / Criminal Mischief III
Text: On 5/17/2010 at approximately 1730 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a burglary at a residence located off of Marley
Drive in Palmer. Investigation revealed forced entry was made into the
residence by breaking a bedroom window. The living room window and
floor were also damaged. Total damages are estimated to be more than
$1200. Investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding

Text: On 5/17/2010 at approximately 2006 hours, Alaska State Troopers
arrested Jennifer L. Hughes, age 37, of Wasilla near the intersection of
the Parks Highway and Lucus Rd. in Wasilla after a traffic stop for
erratic driving. Hughes was found to be operating a motor vehicle while
under the influence of controlled substance. Hughes was arrested for DUI
Drugs and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was
remanded on $2500 bail plus court approved 3rd party.

Text: On 05-17-2010 at approximately 2301 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Danielle D. Carrier, age 31 of Big Lake after receiving a
REDDI report of erratic driving. Carrier was stopped on Vine near KGB
where investigation revealed Carrier was operating a motor vehicle while
under the influence of a controlled substance and while her license was
revoked. Carrier was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial
Facility and held on $5000 C/C bail CATP.

Text: On 5-18-10 at approximately 0805 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of an expected home death at a residence off of Hollow
Nook Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that James W. Miller, age
70 from Wasilla, had died of natural causes. Miller’s family had been
notified and comfort one paperwork was on file. The State Medical
Examiner was contacted and the body was released to Valley Funeral Home.

Text: On 5/18/2010 at approximately 1329 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a two vehicle collision at mile 31 of the Glenn Highway.
Investigation revealed 54 year old John W. Rogers Jr. of Willow, driving
a 2003 Dodge pickup, was traveling northbound near the Knik River Access
on the Glenn Highway when 17 year old Jordan K. Clark of Palmer, driving
a 2001 Dodge Neon, attempted to merge onto the highway from the Knik
River Access on-ramp. Rogers Jr. attempted to stop while Clark
continued into his lane. Clark’s Neon struck the front of the pickup,
causing approximately $2000 damage to the rear of the Neon and $200
damage to the pickup. Investigation further revealed Clark was
operating without a valid driver’s license. All occupants reported
wearing safety belts with no injuries. Rogers Jr. was released from the
scene. Clark was issued a misdemeanor citation for driving without a
valid driver’s license and a citation for exercise due care to avoid a
collision. Clark and the Neon were released to a licensed driver.

Text: On 05/18/2010, at 0915 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a vehicle in the ditch located at the intersection of Spruce
Avenue and Wasilla Fishhook Road, Wasilla. Investigation revealed that
Shelly E. Edwards, age 47, was operating her 1997 Suzuki Sidekick
impaired and under the influence of alcohol. Edwards was arrested for
DUI, transported, and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Bail
was set at $500.00.

Text: On 5/18/10 at 057 hours, the New Stuyahok VPSO and VPO arrested 27
year old New Stuyahok resident Constantine M. Andrew for multiple
offenses. Andrew was intoxicated and assaulted both officers. Andrew
also spit on both officers and trespassed into a New Stuyahok residence.
Andrew was charged with two counts of Assault 4 on a Police Officer, two
counts of Harassment, and Criminal Trespass 1. Andrew will be remanded
to the Dillingham Jail upon his arrival from New Stuyahok. Other
charges may be pending upon review by the Dillingham ADA.

Text: On 5/18/2010, at approximately 1200 hours, the Alaska State
Troopers in Bethel arrested Morgan Simon (age 41 of Scammon Bay) on an
outstanding arrest warrant. The arrest warrant was issue for Simon by
the 4th district court for the charges Assault 4th degree and
interfering a Report of Domestic Violence. Simon was later remanded to
YKCC without incident.

Type: Burglary I, Criminal Mischief V
Text: On 5/16/10, at 1734 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to
a reported burglary at a residence on L Street in Kodiak. Investigation
revealed that two unknown males made entry into the residence after
cutting the screen on a window. The suspects packed a number of items
for transport but were stopped from removing those items when the owners
of the residence returned. The two males were seen running through the
woods behind the residence but eluded capture. No items were reported
stolen and the damage to the window screen was estimated at $40.

Text: On 5/17/10, at 1940 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a
Von Scheele Way residence in Kodiak to investigate a reported theft.
Investigation revealed that unknown individuals had stolen a
semi-automatic pistol from the residence during the previous two weeks.
The pistol was reported to be a silver and black H&K USP .40 cal with
two magazines valued at approximately $1,000.

Text: On 05/17/10, approximately 1015 hrs., Dillingham State Troopers
received a report of a burglary and criminal mischief which had occured
sometime over the weekend at a house which was under construction in the

revealed that three juveniles had entered the house and vandalized it,

Ford F150 for moving violations. Investigation determined that the
driver of the first vehicle, Jayla J. Gentry, age 29 of Fairbanks, was
driving while intoxicated. Investigation further determined the driver
of the second vehicle, Ronald C. Gentry, age 26 of Fairbanks, was
driving while intoxicated and had a pistol stored in the interior of his

Text: On 5/17/10, at 0930 hours, Troopers received a report of
vandalized equipment near Cooper Landing. An investigation showed that
sometime between the evening hours on 5/15/10 and the morning hours on
5/17/10 two pieces of heavy construction equipment had windows damaged.
The equipment was parked at the Tern Lake Picnic area and total damage
is estimated at $750-$1,000. Anyone with information regarding this

Text: On 5/16/2010 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers Based in Fairbanks
Patrolled the Chena River in the Fairbanks Area. The Following People
were issued citations: Steffanie Reed, 34yoa of Fairbanks for Failing to
wear a personal floatation device, Buford Mitchell, 31yoa of Fort
Wainright, for using illegal fishing gear in the Chena River, George
Boggess, 22yoa of Fairbanks for using illegal fishing gear in the Chena
River, Carey Bliss, 50yoa of Fairbanks for Failing to display
registration on a power boat, Sharonna Argend, 32 yoa of Fairbanks for
Fishing Without a license, and Christopher James, 23 yoa of Fairbanks
for Fishing without a license and for using illegal fishing gear in the
Chena River. Numerous warnings were also given to others.
Treble hooks smaller than =BD inch from shank to tip are prohibited in
the Chena River below the Dam. Bait is prohibited as well unless used in
conjunction with a single hook of =BE inches or larger. Arctic Grayling
are catch and release only.

Text: On 5-15-10 at 0555 hours 49 year old Peter Pugach of Delta
Junction was cited for Attempt to snag/ Use of a weighted treble hook.
The charge resulted after AWT observed Pugach vigorously “raking” the
water with a large weighted treble hook. The fishing gear used was
seized as evidence, and Pugach was cited into the Delta Junction Court.

Text: On 4/17/10, Chester E. Bushnell 32 YOA and Stephanie R. Tarabochia
31 YOA both from Warrenton, OR were cited by the Alaska Wildlife
Troopers, Cordova Post for commercial fishing as crewmembers aboard the
F/V Majestik tender without having a 2010 crew license in their
possession as required. Bail was set at $260 for each of them, in the
District Court of Cordova.

Type: Residential Fire/Death investigation
UPDATE: The deceased has been identified as Dion G. Westdahl, DOB
12/7/1976, of St. Mary’s. Westdahl was positively identified through
dental records. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation into
Westdahl’s death is on going. There is no further update available for
the public at this time.
On 5/6/110, at approximately 0805 hours, Alaska State Troopers were
notified of a residential house fire that was fully engulfed in St.
Mary’s. After the fire was extinguished, fire department personnel
discovered a body inside the burnt residence. The State Fire Marshal’s
Office has been contacted and is responding to St. Mary’s. Investigation
continues into this matter.

AK Bureau of Highway Patrol

Text: On 5-17-2010 at approximately 2132 hours, Troopers from the Bureau
of Highway Patrol Kenai Peninsula Team conducted a traffic stop on a
1988 Chevrolet Celebrity for an equipment violation. An investigation
disclosed the driver, Caleb Alexander age 20 of Soldotna, was operating
the vehicle with a suspended Alaska driver’s license. Alexander was
issued a summons to appear in Kenai Court and released.
