On 4/18/2010 at approximately 9:38pm, Fayetteville Police Officers responded to Cedar Creek Road in reference to a traffic accident involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.
Milton Pier, 81, of 274 Friendship Circle in Beaver, Pennsylvania was struck by a 2004 Mazda as he attempted to cross Cedar Creek Road. Pier was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the Mazda is identified Gertrude Carroll, 55, of 955 Lakewood School Road in Salemburg, NC. Carroll was not injured in the accident.
No charges have been filed and the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate.
