Type: Fraudulent Use of an Access Device

Text: On 4/3/10, at 1025 hours, Juneau AST received a report of an
illegal use of a credit card in Haines.  Investigation revealed that on
2/28/10, a Haines resident lost his checkbook on the M/V LeConte between
Juneau and Haines and person(s) unknown used his credit card to make
purchases online.  Case is under investigation.

Type: MVC-I

Text:  On 4/3/10 at 1312 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a single motor vehicle rollover near mile 2.5 of the South
Tongass Highway.  AST and the South Tongass Fire Department responded to
the scene.   Investigation found the sole occupant/driver, Frances
Martin age 52 of Ketchikan, lost control of her vehicle while traveling
northbound on the South Tongass Highway.  Martin was transported to the
Ketchikan General hospital for treatment.  AST investigation continues.

Type:  DUI
Text: On 04-02-2010, at approximately 1958 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped a black Chevrolet S-10 off of King Arthur Drive in Houston for
equipment violations. Troopers contacted Dawson J. Sult age 24, of
Houston. Investigation revealed that Sult was driving under the
influence and was subsequently arrested for DUI. Sult was remanded to
Mat-Su Pretrial on a $2500.00 c/c bail with a court approved third party
custodian.

Type: Expected Death
Text: On 04/03/10 at approximately 0541 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of an expected home death at a residence on Travelair
Dr in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Robert D. Hanson, age 74, of
Wasilla, had passed away due to natural causes.  Next of Kin was on
scene at the time of death.  The State Medical Examiner’s Office was
contacted and released the body to family.  Comfort One paper work is on
file.  No foul play is suspected.

Type: DWLR/ Warrant Arrest
Text: On 4-3-10 at approximately 1144 hours, Troopers stopped a Ford
Ranger near mile 60 of the Parks Highway for an equipment violation.
The driver was identified as Garrett Cooper, age 38 of Willow.
Investigation revealed Cooper had a revoked AKDL.  Further investigation
revealed the owner of the vehicle, Edward Kehl age 44 of Willow, had a
warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in court.  Troopers
responded to the residence that Kehl was believed to be at.  Kehl was
located in the residence and was arrested and remanded into MSPT, where
he was held without bail.  Cooper was issued a misdemeanor citation to
appear in court and was released.

Text: On 4-2-10 at 1330 hours, VPSO Linn arrested Colin Lincoln, 48 of
White Mountain, with an arrest warrant for failure to comply with a
court order.  Lincoln was remanded to the Anvil Mountain Correctional
Center with $1500.00 bail.

Type: Assault IV (DV), Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct
Text: On 4/2/2010 at approximately 1819 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of an assault on a four year old child in the village
of Noorvik, AK. Investigation revealed Marilyn WELLS, age 31 , of
Noorvik was highly intoxicated, and punched her four year old family
member in the face causing minor injuries.  WELLS was arrested for
Assault IV (DV).  WELLS was also charged with Resisting Arrest and
Disorderly Conduct after she became combative during her transit to
jail.  WELLS was remanded to the Kotzebue Regional Jail where she is
awaiting arraignment.  Alcohol was a factor in this incident.

investigate a death of a five month old infant. The infant was sent to

Text: On 04/01/10, Aniak Alaska State Troopers responded to the village
of Chuathbaluk for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed that
Nick J. Avakumoff age 42, of Chuathbaluk had assaulted a family member.
Avakumoff was arrested, and transported to YKCC in Bethel with a
$20,000.00 bail. Alcohol was a contributing factor.

Text: On 4/2/10 at about 2120 hours, AST contacted Carl Benson , 27, of
North Pole, while investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Benson failed to notify AST that he was carrying a loaded handgun and a
fixed bladed double edged dagger on his belt.  Benson was arrested for
Misconduct Involving a Weapon 5th degree and taken to FCC, where he was
held without bail.

Type: D.V. Protective Order Violation
Text: On 4/2/10 at approximately 2310 hrs, AST received a report that
Douglas J. Miller, age 23 of Soldotna, was violating a D.V. Protective
Order against him by contacting a 14 year old female listed in the
protective order as a person he is not to contact.  AST investigation
revealed Douglas Miller had violated the protective order by calling the
14 year old female and text messaging her multiple times.  Douglas
Miller was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial without bail.

Text: On 04/02/10, at approximately 0757 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped to check on a vehicle with its hazard lights on, which was
stopped in the roadway at the intersection of Beacon Hill St and mile 91
of the Sterling Hwy in Soldotna.  Robert L. Drake, age 28 of Soldotna,
was subsequently issued a summons to appear in the Kenai District Court
after investigation revealed that he had driven the vehicle to its
current location without a valid drivers license.

Type: No Motor Vehicle Insurance

Text: On 04/02/10, at approximately 2304 hours, Justin Bennett (age 25
of Soldotna) was stopped by Alaska State Troopers for an equipment
violation near the intersection of K-Beach Rd and Gaswell Rd in
Soldotna.  Bennett was arrested for knowingly driving without motor
vehicle liability insurance, and was remanded at Wildwood with $500
bail.

Type: Warrant Arrest; MICS 6

Text: On 04/03/10, at approximately 0222 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Ellen St and Halibouty Rd in
Nikiski for a traffic violation.  A passenger in the vehicle, Nicholas
Parham-Danielson (age 23 of Nikiski), was arrested for a $2000 Anchorage
AST arrest warrant (original offense Driving while License Revoked) and
for Misconduct involving a Controlled Substance in the Sixth Degree.
Danielson was arrested and remanded at Wildwood with $2250 bail.

Text: On 04-02-10, at approximately 1315 hours, the Alaska State

Text: On 04-02-10, at approximately 1050 hours, the Alaska State
Troopers contacted Anthony A. Kojin, 24 of Anchor Point as he was
attempting to drive away in a vehicle at the Anchor Point Inn.
Investigation revealed that Kojin had a revoked license.  Kojin was
issued a summons to appear in court and was released at the scene.

On 03-31-10, at 1540 hours, the Alaska State Troopers arrested Anthony
John Bess, 63 of Anchor Point.  Bess was arrested for DV Assault III for
making repeated threats to a family member.  Bess was arrested at
Wal-Mart in Kenai and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial with no bail.

Location: Girdwood
Case number: 10-26992
Type: Motor Vehicle Crash – Injury
Text: On 4/2/10, at approximately 1846 hours, a Trooper from Girdwood
and Soldotna BHP, along with Girdwood Fire / EMS, responded to the
report of a motor vehicle crash near mile 103 of the Seward Hwy.  A
scene investigation revealed that Shana Crozier, of Girdwood, had been
driving north on the Seward Hwy near mile 103 in her Jeep Cherokee when
she crossed into the oncoming lane and stuck a Ford pickup, operated by
Nathan Lukes of Girdwood, and a Jeep Liberty SUV, operated by Debra
Haakenson of Anchor Point.  All three vehicles received major damage as
a result of the crash.  Both Jeeps were totaled.  A juvenile male who
was a passenger in Crozier’s vehicle was transported to an Anchorage
area hospital for treatment of a broken arm.  An AST investigation into
the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Location: Girdwood
Case number: 10-27300
Type: Search and Rescue
Text: On 4/3/10, at approximately 1645 hours, two Troopers from
Girdwood, along with Cooper Landing EMS, Girdwood Fire / EMS, and
Lifemed, responded to a snow machine area off of the Seward Hwy near
mile 68 for the report of an injured snow machine rider.  Troopers and
Girdwood EMS were able to reach the scene via department snow machines.
A scene investigation revealed that Kelly Carr, age 27 of Anchorage, had
sustained a substantial  back injury while riding.   Carr was stabilized
by on scene personnel. AST coordinated the arrival of Lifemed who
transported Carr to an Anchorage area hospital via helicopter for
treatment of her injury.

Type: Warrant Arrest, MICS 6th Degree, Contributing to the Delinquency
of a Minor
Text: On 4/3/10, at approximately 1330 hours, a Trooper from Girdwood
conducted a traffic stop on a Subaru Wagon near mile 106 of the Seward
Hwy. for speeding.  This area is within the Seward Hwy. Safety Corridor.
An investigation revealed that Ethan Aloysius, age 19 of Anchorage, had
an outstanding $ 500 warrant for his arrest.  Further AST investigation
revealed that Aloysius was also in possession of a small amount of
marijuana.  Additionally, he possessed the marijuana while in the
immediate vicinity of the juvenile operator of the vehicle.  Aloysius
was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Anchorage Jail and
summons to appear in court on the charges of Misconduct Involving a
Controlled Substance in the 6th Degree and Contributing to the
Delinquency of a Minor. The driver of the Subaru was cited for speeding.

Type:  Death Investigation

Text: On 04/03/2010, at approximately 1537 hours, AST received a report
of a male subject who was not breathing and unresponsive at a residence
on River Bend Drive in Soldotna, AK.  Investigation revealed that,
Cameron Craik, age 68, of Soldotna, had died at his residence.  The
investigation showed no signs of foul play.  The SME’s office was
contacted about the incident and an Autopsy was requested.  Next of Kin
was notified.   Peninsula Memorial Chapel responded to the scene and
recovered the deceased.

Type: Failure to File Fish Ticket within Seven Days of Landing

Text: On 4-1-10, Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers issued summons to Blue
North LLC after investigation revealed that Blue North LLC, failed to
file an ADF&G Fish Ticket within seven days of landing commercially
caught fish from its Catcher Processor (CP) Blue Attu.  Also summonsed
as co-defendant in the case was the skipper and permit holder aboard the
CP Blue Attu, Barry D. Johnson, age 56 of Manson, Washington.
Arraignment is scheduled for the Unalaska District Court on 4-28-10 at
1310 hours.

Type: DUI / Minor Operating Vehicle after MCA / MCA x3
Text: On 4/3/2010 at 0054 hrs, the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol,
Northern Traffic Team stopped a white 1999 Chevrolet pickup for a
traffic violation on the Alaska Highway near the Tok Cutoff in Tok.
Lorna Rae David, age 18 of Mentasta, was identified as the driver.
Investigation revealed she had been driving the truck while impaired by
alcohol and under 21.  She was arrested for DUI, Minor Operating a
Vehicle after MCA and MCA and remanded at Tok AST.  Jason John, age 20
of Mentasta, was a passenger in the car.  Investigation revealed he had
been consuming alcohol and was on court ordered conditions of release to
not consume alcohol.  He was issued citations for MCA and Violating
Conditions of Release.  Dawn Rice, age 18 of Valdez, was also a
passenger.  Investigation revealed she had been consuming alcohol as
well. She was issued a citation for MCA.

Type: DWLR, Permitting Unauthorized Person to Drive

Text:  On 04/02/2010 at approximately 2012 hours the AST Bureau of
Highway Patrol, South-Central Team, stopped a vehicle near Mile 59 of
the Parks Hwy. for a moving violation.  The driver of the vehicle was
identified as Kirk H. Mann, age 34, of Fairbanks.  Mann was found to be
operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license.  Further
investigation found the passenger of the vehicle, Sarah K. Cleaves, age
38, of Fairbanks, allowed Mann to drive the vehicle knowing that he had
a revoked driver’s license.  Mann was issued a Misdemeanor Citation to
appear in the Palmer Court for Driving While License Revoked.  Cleaves
was issued a Misdemeanor Citation to appear in the Palmer Court for
Permitting an Unauthorized Person to Drive.  The vehicle was released to
Cleaves who had valid driver’s license.

Text: On 4/2/10 at approx. 1938 hrs. the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol,
South Central Team stopped a 1977 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight near mile 33
Glenn Hwy. for speeding.  The driver was identified as Glendell J.
Watson, age 23 of Anchorage.  Investigation revealed that Watson has
never been issued a valid driver’s license in the state of Alaska or any
other state.  Watson was arrested and transported to MSPT where bail was
set at $250 cash only.  Watson’s vehicle was released to a licensed
driver.

Text: On 4-3-10 at 1800 hours the Alaska State Troopers Bureau of
Highway Patrol, Northern Team, stopped a newer model passenger vehicle
for speeding at mile 1267 of the Alaska Highway.  Investigation revealed
the operator of the vehicle, who was identified by his AK ID card as
Todd Demit (19 YOA of Northway), was operating the vehicle with out a
driver’s license.  Demit was issued a citation for speeding and a
misdemeanor citation for NVOL.  Demit was released at the scene on his
own recognizance.
The vehicle was released to a licensed driver who was riding in the
vehicle.

Text: On 04-03-2010, at 0130 hours The Bureau of Highway Patrol
conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving/equipment violation
near the Tok Cut Off and the Alaska HWY in Tok, AK.  The driver of the
vehicle was identified as Winford Hipp (50 YOA) of Tanna Cross.  The
investigation revealed Hipp drivers license was revoked and he did not
have proof of insurance in his vehicle.  Hipp was issued a citation to
appear in court for driving while license revoked and was cited for not
having proof of insurance.

Text: On 4/2/10 at approx. 1938 hrs. the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol,
South Central Team stopped a 1977 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight near mile 33
Glenn Hwy. for speeding.  The driver was identified as Glendell J.
Watson, age 23 of Anchorage.  Investigation revealed that a warrant had
been issued for Watson’s arrest for probation violations connected to a
previous Burglary 1st and Theft 2nd conviction.  Watson was arrested and
transported to MSPT where he was held pending $5000 bail plus and Court
Approved Third Party Custodian.

Type: Misuse of Plates
Text: On 4-1-10 at 1800 hours the Alaska State Troopers Bureau of
Highway Patrol, Northern Team, stopped a 1985 Mercury Sable for a moving
violation at mile 50 Parks Highway.  Further investigation revealed the
plates on the vehicle that were displayed were not issued to that
vehicle.  The driver was identified as Alejandro Orozco (20 YOA of
Wasilla).  Orozco was issued a citation for not showing valid proof of
insurance and was issued a misdemeanor citation for misuse of plates.
Orozco was released at the scene on his own recognizance.

Text: On 4-2-10 at 0031 hours the Alaska State Troopers Bureau of
Highway Patrol, Northern Team, stopped a newer model passenger vehicle
for a moving violation at the Alaska Highway near the Tok Cutoff.
Investigation revealed a passenger in the vehicle was identified by his
Alaska ID card as Robert L. Pierce JR, 20 YOA of Nenana, had consumed
alcohol under the age of 21.  Pierce was issued a misdemeanor citation
for a 2nd offense Minor Consuming Alcohol.  Pierce was released at the
scene on his own recognizance.
