Roswell – Angelica Dominguez Garcia died this morning at a Lubbock, Texas Hospital. The death comes as a result of the injuries sustained in the head on collision in the early morning hour of March 28th.
Michael Pacheco and Hortencia Nava are both still listed in critical condition. Investigators have not concluded the cause of the crash and are looking at all the evidence.
Roswell – Ana Maria Garcia-Davila, 49, of Juarez Mexico died yesterday morning in a head on collision in southeastern New Mexico, with others listed in critical condition.
Just after 7:00 A.M. yesterday morning Officers from the Roswell State Police office responded to the scene of a two vehicle crash on US Highway 380, near mile post 165, (Bottomless Lakes turn off).
The officer’s investigation showed that Michael Pacheco, 25, of Hobbs, NM was driving his 1994 Chevy pick-up westbound on US 380 when an eastbound vehicle crossed into his lane of travel and stuck him head on.
The eastbound 2005 Ford pick-up was driven by Hortencia Nava, 47, of Roswell, NM and had two passengers Ana Maria Garcia Davila and Angelica Dominguez Garcia, age 22 of Juarez, Mexico.
Michael Pacheco was later flown to University of New Mexico Medical Center in Albuquerque.
Hortencia Nava and passenger Angelica Dominguez Garcia were transported to the Roswell Medical Center and later flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Ana Maria Garcia Davila was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Failure to utilize seatbelts and driver inattention, were contributing factors in this crash.
Alcohol is not a contributing factor in the crash and enforcement action is pending further investigation.
