Text: On 1-31-10, at 2015, Jason P. Gillim, age 34 of Juneau was cited
for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Gilliam
was issued a summons to appear in the Juneau District court on 2-25-10
and the car was parked until the registered owner could take possession.
Gilliam was also issued a $510 citation for failing to have auto
insurance.

Text: On 1/31/2010, at approximately 0015 hours, Alaska State Troopers
went to a residence off Salmonberry Street in Wasilla to execute an
arrest warrant service on William L. Murray II, age 30 of Wasilla, who
had one outstanding $2500 arrest warrant for the crime of Escape 4.
During the contact not only was Murray arrested, Troopers also contacted
Richard J. Brown, age 24 of Wasilla. Brown had two outstanding arrest
warrants, one in the amount of $2000 for FTA on the original charge of
DWLR and one no bail, FTA remand to serve time, on the original charge
of DWLR.

Type: Felony Eluding, DUI, and Reckless Driving
Text: On 1/330/2010, at approximately 2059 hours, Alaska State Troopers
attempted to stop a silver 2004 Saturn 4-door sedan on the Palmer
Wasilla Highway near the intersection of Begich Drive in Wasilla for a
moving violation. The vehicle failed to yield for approximately 2 miles
while speeding, driving into oncoming lanes of travel, and nearly
colliding with a guard rail. Investigation revealed the driver, Mollie
A. Boyer age 56 of Palmer, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
Boyer was arrested at the scene without incident and remanded to MSPT
where she was held on $3000 bail.

Type: Criminal Mischief 3 and Assault 4 X’s 2 (D.V.)
Text: On 01/31/2010 at approximately 0100 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a residence off of Buckeye Lane in Wasilla following the
report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Ashley Ann
Kinsley, age 25 of Wasilla, assaulted a family member and broke items in
the residence causing $1,913.00 in damage. Kinsley also assaulted
another person prior to AST’s arrival. Kinsley was arrested transported
and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial facility and held without bail.

Type: 3rd Felony DUI / Endangering Welfare of Child / Reckless
Endangerment / DWLR
Text: On 1-31-10 at approximately 0750 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a residence near Tattler St. in Wasilla for an open 911
line where a domestic disturbance could be heard. Upon arrival Troopers
contacted William R. Greenewald age 42 of Wasilla. Investigation
revealed Greenewald attempted to leave the residence with a small child
in car while under the influence of alcohol. In an attempt to stop
Greenewald, another female juvenile from the residence jumped onto the
hood of the car as Greenewald drove out of the driveway and down the
street until he stopped were the vehicle was left abandoned in the
middle of the roadway. Further investigation revealed Greenewald has
been convicted of two prior Felony DUI’s and currently has a revoked
drivers license. Greenewald was arrested and transported to Mat-Su
Pretrial where he is being held without bail.

Text: On 1-31-10 at approximately 0214 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted a 16 year old male from Wasilla after his Chevy truck was
found in the ditch at Beverly Lake Road and Sourdough Drive.
Investigation revealed that the male had driven the vehicle after
consuming alcohol while under 21 years of age. Further investigation
revealed that the male was under the influence and impaired by alcohol.
The 16 year old was arrested for DUI and also charged with Minor
Operating after Consuming Alcohol and Minor Consuming Alcohol. The
vehicle and the male were later released his parents.

Text: On 01-27-2010 at approximately 1030hrs, Alaska State Troopers
(AST) received a report of a theft from Kodiak State Airport Personnel.
AST investigation revealed that on 01-24-2010 at approximately 0734hrs a
BlackBerry Cell phone valued at approximately $300.00 was stolen.
Investigation determined that James R. Ashford, 48 of Kodiak, stole the
BlackBerry Cell phone after it was mislaid at the Kodiak State Airport.
Charges are being forwarded to the District Attorney Office in Kodiak.

Text: On 1/30/10, Alaska State Troopers in Nome received a report from
Gambell VPO’s that Al Wayne Koonooka, 45 yoa of Gambell was involved in
an assault and was highly intoxicated during the incident. Koonooka was
arrested and remanded to Anvil Mountain Correctional Center in Nome on
charges of Violating his Probation and Assault in the 4th degree.

Text: On 1/29/10 at 1111 hours, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a
burglary at the IRA building in Akiak. Investigation revealed that
sometime during the night. Entry was made into the building through an
open window. A Compaq laptop computer and $40 in cash were stolen.
Investigation continues.

Type: Snow machine accident – Fatal
Text: On 01/30/2010, at approximately 2139 hours, AST received a call
from the Mekoryuk VPSO, who reported a snow machine accident involving
two people. At approximately 1845 hours, Mekoryuk Search and Rescue
personnel had received a request for help, via VHF radio, from Edward
KIOKUN, 26, of Mekoryuk who was reporting his father, Hultman KIOKUN,
63, of Mekoryuk had sustained injuries when he fell off a 50 foot cliff
while driving a snow machine.
Investigation revealed that both men were collecting wood earlier in the
day when weather conditions deteriorated. The men who were on separate
snow machine and each pulling sleds were using a GPS to guide them home
in the white-out conditions. Both men drove over the edge of a cliff and
onto the Mekoryuk River. Hultman KIOKUN’S snow machine and sled landed
on the top of him. Hultman KIOKUN died from his injuries at the scene.
Edward KIOKUN sustained minor injuries and was treated at the Mekoryuk
clinic. Next of kin was notified of the death. Alcohol was not a factor
in the accident.

Text: On 1/31/2010 at approximately 0240 hours, the Alaska State
Troopers were contacted via 911 regarding a male subject who had broken
the window on the front door and entered a residence on Montana Circle,
Moose Creek, AK while the owner was home. Investigation determined that
Christopher B. Aure, age 20, of Moose Creek, had broken the window and
unlawfully entered the residence. Aure was arrested and transported to
Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded for Criminal
Mischief III, Criminal Trespass I, and Minor Consuming Alcohol.

William Wood, 27, of Fairbanks, on Airport Way for a traffic violation.

License. WOOD was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional
Center for DWCOL.

Text: On 1/31/10, at 1430 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report
that Ricardo Farrell, age 26, of Fort Wainwright, was at a residence in
Fairbanks violating a Domestic Violence Protective order. The subsequent
investigation revealed Farrell was at the residence in violation of the
DVPO and had repeatedly strangled his girlfriend. Farrell was arrested
and transported to FCC for remand pending arraignment. Farrell is
charged with two counts of assault in the third degree, one count of
resisting arrest, and Violating a DVPO.

Type: D.W.L.R and Minor Operating after Consuming Alcohol
Text: On 1/31/2010, at 1202 hrs, the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks
received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Fairbanks Street near
Geist Rd. AST investigation led to the arrest of Brandon Dewilde
Hutchinson Jr, age 20, of Fairbanks. Hutchinson was driving on a revoked
driver’s license and minor operating a motor vehicle after consuming
alcohol. He was transported and remanded to FCC. He was also issued a
citation for a traffic offense.

Text: On 1/31/10, at 1348 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a 2002
Chevrolet truck for having expired registration. When Troopers
approached the vehicle there was a strong odor of marijuana coming form
the vehicle. The investigation revealed that Jeremy Fate, age 21, of
Fairbanks, has been smoking marijuana in his vehicle. The marijuana was
seized and Fate was arrested. Fate was remanded into FCC with a $500
bail.

Text: On 1-30-10, at 2018 hours, Girdwood AST responded to mi 39 Seward
Hwy. for a single vehicle rollover. Investigation revealed Jennifer L.
Gayer, age 43 of Soldotna was driving her 2002 Chevy Blazer southbound
at mi 39 Seward Hwy when she lost control of her vehicle on the ice
rounding a curve. The Blazer slid sideways into the ditch and struck a
guard rail end, flipping the vehicle upside down trapping the passenger
(Dorothy Jackson, age 58 of Soldotna) inside. Moose Pass/Seward/Bear
Creek EMS responded for extrication. Jackson was transported to a
Soldotna Hospital via Life Med. Gayer was transported via ambulance to
Soldotna for her injuries. Both were in stable condition while on
scene. All occupants reported wearing their seat belts. No citations
were issued.

arrested Suzanne Patterson, age 40, of Nikiski after she was contacted

Text: On 1/30/2010, at approximately 2040 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped a white 1996 Chevy Caviler for an equipment violation near mile
11of the Kenai Spur Highway. The driver of the vehicle gave a false name
but later identified as Timothy Higdon, age 27, of Anchorage.
Investigation revealed Higdon had an active AST warrant for failure to
appear and a revoked driver’s license. Higdon was arrested for the
outstanding warrant, DWLR and providing false information. Higdon was
remanded into custody at WWPT in lieu of $2000.00 bail.

Text: On 1/30/10 at approximately 0350 hours the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team stopped a vehicle near Wasilla for a moving
violation. The operator was identified as Quentin Campbell, age 34, of
Charlemont, MA. Campbell was found to have operated his vehicle under
the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DUI. Campbell was then
subsequently charged with Refusal to Submit to a Chemical test after he
refused to submit to breath testing. Campbell was remanded to the
Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where his bail was set at $5000.

Type: MVC- Wildlife
Text: On 1/29/10 at approximately 2222 hours, the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team responded to a motor vehicle collision
involving a moose near mile 48 of the Parks Highway. Investigation
determined Tasha Bruesch age 29 of Wasilla, was south bound in a 2007
Pontiac sedan when a moose entered the roadway. Bruesch did not have
time to respond and collided with the moose. Meanwhile, Shanda Graham
age 50 of Wasilla, was traveling north bound in her 2000 Volkswagen
sedan, when the moose was thrown into her lane of travel. Graham did not
have time to respond and the moose was struck a second time. All
involved denied injuries and reported wearing their seatbelts. Damage to
both vehicles is estimated at $6000.

Location: Mile 66.5 Seward Highway

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision – Injury
Text: On 1/29/10 at approximately 1927 hours Troopers responded to a
report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries at mile 66.5 of the
Seward Highway. The AST Bureau of Highway Patrol, Kenai Peninsula
Team, Girdwood and Crown Point Troopers, responded to the scene.
Medics from Girdwood, Moose Pass, and Cooper Landing also responded.
Investigation revealed Kenneth R. Roberts Jr., age 28, of Kenai, was
traveling southbound on the Seward Highway while towing a trailer.
Roberts lost control of the trailer and it crossed the centerline in to
the oncoming lane of travel. Paul C. Wiersema, age 43, of Girdwood was
traveling north bound on the Seward Highway. Wiersema was unable to
avoid the trailer and collided with it. Wiersema was transported by
Life Med Helicopter to an Anchorage area hospital with serious injuries.
Wiersema’s passenger was transported to an Anchorage area hospital by
Girdwood EMS. Roberts and his passenger were uninjured during the
collision. All parties were reported to be wearing their safety belts.
The damage to Wiersema’s vehicle was estimated to be a total loss. The
damage to Roberts’ vehicle was minimal. The damage to Roberts’ trailer
was estimated to be a total loss. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to
be a factor in the collision.

Text: On 1/31/10 at approximately 1553 hours, the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol stopped a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck for expired registration
near Bogard Rd and North Shore Dr. in Wasilla. The driver was identified
as Carrie Pinckley, age 31 of Wasilla. Investigation determined Pinckley
had operated her vehicle while her driver’s license was suspended,
without any liability insurance and in violation of a restriction placed
on her driver’s license. She was arrested and remanded to the Mat-Su
Pre-Trial facility where her bail was set at $1500.

Type: DUI
Text: On 1/30/10 at approximately 2111 hours, the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team and Palmer AST responded to a vehicle stuck
in the snow bank near the Valley Country Store in Wasilla. It was
reported that the driver appeared to be impaired and was requesting
assistance to get his vehicle out. Contact was made with Albert F.
Rothfuss VI, age 43 of Copper Center and it was determined that Rothfuss
VI operated a motor vehicle while under the influence. Rothfuss VI was
arrested for DUI and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial facility where bail
was set at $5000 plus court approved third party. Rothfuss VI was also
issued a citation for open container.
