Schodack, New York – Suicide – 48 Year Old Female Jumps From Castleton Bridge

On 1/25/10 @ 3:56PM Troopers responded to the Berkshire Spur section of the New York State Thruway on the Castleton Bridge, in the Town of Schodack, Rensselaer County, NY for a report of a woman standing on the railing of the bridge.
Upon the Troopers arrival they found a vehicle abandon in the driving lane midway across the bridge. Castleton on the Hudson FD, Coeymans FD and Schodack FD responded and began searching the Hudson River below the bridge with boats.
They recovered the body of a 48 year old female from Troy NY who was pronounced at the scene by the Office of the Rensselaer County Medical Examiner.
The body was removed to Albany Medical Center pending an autopsy.
The investigation into the apparent suicide is ongoing.
