Sacramento County, California – Elementary School Teacher Arrested On Child Molestation Charges

On January 6, 2010, 25-year-old Shane Adair Vicars was arrested by Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau detectives on a warrant for 15 counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14 years and child annoyance. Vicars was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
Vicars is an employee of the San Juan School Unified School District most recently assigned to the Sierra Oaks Discovery Club program. The Discovery Club is an after-school program at Sierra Oaks School on Mills Road in Sacramento. All of the victims, who range between the ages of seven and eleven-years-old, were participants in the program.
Detectives believe there is a high probability Vicars has victimized other children. Anyone who believes Shane Adair Vicars may have had inappropriate contact with their child is urged to call Sheriff’s Child Abuse detective John Linke at (916) 874-5964.
