South Precinct detectives are investigating the murder of a 21-year-old man who was found shot to death this afternoon inside his 1211 Bell Road apartment (Beechwood Terrace complex).
The victim, whose name is being withheld pending the notification of his family out of state, was discovered at 1:10 p.m. by a pest control employee who accessed the apartment for routine spraying. There are no signs of forced entry.
The exact time of the shooting is not known. The victim was last seen by his co-workers on Sunday night. He was not to have reported back for work until today.
Investigators and crime scene experts will be processing the apartment for evidence well into this evening.
This is Nashville’s first homicide case of 2010.
