DUI Saturation Patrols December 29

As part of the Avoid the 8 grant, motorcycle officers from the San Francisco Police Department Traffic Company will be out on extra DUI patrols on Tuesday, December 29, in an enforcement operation on impaired driving.

“We have a great advantage in finding and arresting drivers we suspect of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” said SFPD Sergeant Neil Swendsen. “Motorcycles are a lot more mobile and we can get closer to the vehicle to see if a driver is exhibiting signs of impairment.”

The extra patrols are funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
