Tangipahoa, Louisiana – One Vehicle Crash takes life of Mississippi Resident

Tangipahoa – Today at 06:10 am, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 55 at milepost #52 in Tangipahoa Parish.
A 2006 Chrysler sedan, driven by Teddy Cornelius Jackson (B/M age 29) of McComb, MS, was traveling southbound on Interstate 55 in the left lane of travel. While southbound on I-55, the Chrysler sedan left the roadway and ran into the grass median for an unknown reason. Upon entering the median, the Chrysler then impacted a tree with its front end coming to rest facing a southeasterly direction.
The driver of the Chrysler sedan was transported to Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite where he later died as a result of his injuries. Jackson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol use is unknown at this time. A blood sample was taken from Jackson with analysis pending by the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
