Kern County, California – Shooting on Potomac Avenue Claims One

Details: At approximately 8:30 pm. Kern County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of Potomac Avenue. They arrived and found 24 year old Martin Deluna down in the street.
He was unconscious and appeared to have been shot multiple times. Medical aid responded and transported Deluna to KMC. He died a short time later as a result of his injuries.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives, as well as gang investigators responded and began their investigation. Several witnesses were interviewed and the case appears to be gang related.
No suspects have been identified at this time. The investigation is continuing. If anyone has any information, they are urged to contact the Sheriff’s office at 861-3110, Detective Olmos at 391-7603, or Secret Witness at 322-4040.
