Snohomish County- Four people died Sunday evening at approximately 6:15 pm when their 2007 Hyundai passenger car was struck by a 2005 Ford Explorer in the inter-section of State Route 9 and 108th Street Northeast.

The driver of the Hyundai, 54-year-old Bradley D. Agerup, and three passengers, 48-year-old Melissa A. Agerup, 62-year-old Hilda M. Woods, and 57-year-old Thomas J. Woods, all of Snohomish, died at the scene as a result of their injuries.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, 27-year-old Mathew C. McDonald, received minor injuries and was subsequently arrested for the suspicion of DUI. He was later booked into the Snohomish County Jail on four counts of Vehicular Homicide.

A passenger in the Explorer, John P. Ladue of Snohomish, was transported by ambulance to Providence Colby Medical Center in Everett with minor injuries.

“As this is the beginning of the holiday season, everyone needs to be extra careful. If you plan to drink, let someone who has not been drinking do the driving,” said State Patrol Captain Ken Ginnard.

Additional troopers will be working special emphasis patrols each weekend from now until the end of the year to remove impaired and irresponsible drivers from our roadways.
