Poway, California – Thanksgiving Weekend DUI Checkpoint Scheduled for Friday, November 27th, 2009

On the night of 11/27/09, between the hours of 2000 and 0300, deputies from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department Poway Station will be conducting a DUI sobriety and driver safety checkpoint in the westbound lanes of the 12300 block of Poway Road.
The checkpoint will consist of approximately 14 additional DUI trained deputies, who will be manning the checkpoint.
The purpose of the checkpoint is for driver safety, DUI education and to remove impaired drivers from the roadway, thereby increasing the safety of the public.
This operation will be in conjunction with other Office of Traffic Safety DUI operations being conducted in other local jurisdictions.
