Text: On 11/21/09, at 1805 hours, the USCG Command Center contacted

Admiralty Island (approximately 10 miles south of Juneau). On the
morning of 11/21/09, Alexander White, age 24 of Juneau, had gone deer
hunting with three other hunters from Juneau in the area of Oliver
Inlet. After entering the woods the hunters split up and they planned
to meet back at the beach at 1400 hours. At 1500 hours, White still
hadn’t returned to the beach, so the other hunters began to search the
shoreline from their boat until approximately 1800 hours, when they
contacted the USCG. At 2013 hours, the USCG transported 6 members from
Juneau Mountain Rescue and 1 member from SEADOGS to Oliver Inlet to
begin a ground search of the area from Green Cove to Oliver Inlet. At
2328 hours, the USCG vessel was conducting a shoreline search when they
observed a flash of light and heard a gunshot from the shoreline west of
Green Cove. At 2345 hours, the USCG vessel located White uninjured on
the shore. No medical attention was required and White was transported
safely back to Juneau.
