Baton Rouge, Louisiana – 9 Arrested at DUI Checkpoint

The Baton Rouge Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint last night at I-12 and Airline Highway.
A total of 169 vehicles were screened. 11 Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, resulting in the arrests of 9 people for Driving While Intoxicated.
Officers also issued 26 traffic citations and made 2 misdemeanor arrests and 1 felony arrest (possession of cocaine).
Another sobriety checkpoint is planned for tonight (Friday, 11/13/09), somewhere in the city limits of Baton Rouge. The specific time and location will not be announced in advance.
