Madison, WI – At 8:14 p.m. Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, Dane Police, and Waunakee Fire and EMS, responded to a vehicle vs. tractor crash on State Highway 113, one half mile north of Ripp Lane, in the Town of Vienna.
A red Mercury Villager minivan operated by Thomas W. Schmitz, age 50, of Middleton, was traveling south on STH 113 when he rear-ended an International farm tractor pulling a trailer. There were no injuries from the crash. Schmitz was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 5th Offense and cited for Following Too Close. Schmitz was booked into the Dane County Jail.
