Details: Details: On Tuesday, November 10th, at approximatley 6:35 p.m., Deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a victim of a stabbing who was at 601 Burnett Dr. in Bakersfield. Deputies arrived and found two Hispanic males, eighteen years of age, suffering from stab wounds.
They were transported to KMC. One of the victims, Manuel Madrid, died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The other victim was in serious condition. Deputies found that the two stabbing victims had been walking on Virginia Avenue, west of Mt Vernon Av., near Virginia Avenue park, when they were approached by subjects in a dark colored compact car.
There was a brief confrontation with those subjects. When the confrontation was over, the subjects in the vehicle fled and the two victims fled accross Virginia Avenue park, to the residence on Burnett Drive, where they called for assistance.
Homicide detectives were notified and began their investigation. No suspects have been located at this time. If anyone has any information, they are requested to call the sheriff’s office at 861-3110 or Detective Chandler at 391-7610.
