DUI Checkpoints & Crime on the Road, Sobriety Checkpoints

The following information is fragmentary and has not been completely verified. It is based, in part, on hearsay
and is intended for early information use rather than being a formal investigative report.

At 10:41 P.M., Monday evening, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call of someone with a gun at the Country Creek Mobile Home Park, located at 15141 Olde Highway 80 in the unincorporated area of El Cajon. While en route deputies received updated information that there had been a shooting.
Once on scene, deputies were directed to a motorhome in space D-30, where they discovered a 66 year-old male gunshot victim who was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after their arrival.
Initial reports indicate the following: Gina R. Manley-Nelson (49 years-old), who lives with the victim, contacted a neighbor, stating that the victim had been shot. It is believed that the shooting of the victim was the result of an escalating argument between Manley-Nelson and the victim.
After being interviewed by investigators, Manley-Nelson was arrested and charged with one count of murder.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
