Text: On 11-8-09 at 1308 hours, AST arrested Kevin E. Niemi, age 25, of
Juneau, 9465 Mendenhall Lp. Rd. on a bench warrant for failure to appear
for order to show cause hearing May, 2009. The original charge was
failure to appear for Jury duty in Feb. 2009 and failure to show cause
March, 2009. Niemi was transported to Lemon creek Correctional Center
and held on $250.00 cash bail.

Type: Warrant Arrest, Violating Conditions of Release
Text: On 11/07/2009 at approximately 1931 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Allen L. Metcalf (age 52 of Palmer) during a traffic stop at
mile 6.5 of the Old Glenn Highway, near Palmer. Investigation revealed
that Metcalf had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for the original
charge of DUI. Further investigation revealed that Metcalf had been
consuming alcohol which is in violation of his conditions of release.
Metcalf was arrested and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on
$3500 cash only bail.

Text: On 11/07/2009 at approximately 2122 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Ronald L. Knight (age 32 of Wasilla) at a residence on Delroy
Road in Houston while investigating a burglary. Investigation revealed
Knight had an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear on the
original charge of No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance. Knight was
subsequently placed under arrest and was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial
Facility where he was held on $1000 bail.

Location: Palmer
Case number: 09-100225
Type: Motor Vehicle Collision/Roll over
Text: On 11-7-09, at about 1424 hours, Carole L. Conway, 61 years of
age, of Palmer was contacted by AST after rolling her vehicle over near
mile 8 of the Old Glenn Highway, Palmer. Investigation revealed that
Conway had lost control of her vehicle on icy roads and left the roadway
rolling at least one and half times. Conway was transported to the Mat
Su Regional Hospital, for injuries and was subsequently released.
Conway was issued a Minor Offense Citation for Basic Speed. No
winter/studded tires contributed to the collision. Conway’s vehicle was
towed from the scene and sustained approximately $8,000.00 damage.

Text: On 11-8-09 at 0644 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a disturbance in Savoonga. Subsequent investigation led to
the arrest of Jenna Toolie, 20 of Savoonga, for Minor Consuming Alcohol
and Probation Violation. Toolie was remanded to the Anvil Mountain
Correctional Center.

Text: On 11/7/2009, at 1828 hrs, the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks
received a report that Fred Meyer West had a shoplifter in custody. AST
contacted Jonas Henry at the business. Investigation revealed that Henry
stole $14.99 in merchandise. He also had marijuana on his person. He was
arrested and remanded at FCC where he was held on bail.

Text: On 11/4/09 at 2347 hours, AST observed a black Dodge pickup fail
to signal before turning left onto Airport Way. Investigation revealed
Timothy Gilbertson, 57, of Fairbanks, was Driving Under the Influence,
Driving While License Suspended, and No Motor Vehicle Liability
Insurance. Gilbertson was arrested and transported to Fairbanks
Correctional Center.

Text: On 11/4/09 at 2159 hours, AST observed a red Ford pickup fail to
signal before turning right onto University Avenue. AST investigation
revealed Don McClain, 60, of Fairbanks, was Driving With a Revoked
Operators License. McClain was arrested and transported to Fairbanks
Correctional Center.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision
Text: On 11-7-09, at 1737 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to
mile 7 of the Steese Highway, Fairbanks, for a single vehicle collision.
Investigation revealed Donna G. Petri, 43 of Ft. Wainwright, was
traveling north on the Steese Highway in her 2010 Mazda CX7, when a cow
moose crossed over the median barrier and Petri’s vehicle collided with
the moose. Petri was not injured in the collision and she was wearing
her seatbelt. The moose was given to a charity to be salvaged. The
vehicle was a total loss.

Text: On 11/4/09 at 1934 hours, AST contacted a male matching the
description of an assault suspect near downtown Fairbanks. Matthew
John, 20, of Fairbanks, was arrested for habitual minor consuming
alcohol and misconduct involving a controlled substance in the sixth
degree. John was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

Text: On 11/7/09 at 1747 hours, AST was responding to a report of a
vehicle vs. moose collision on the Steese Hwy., when they observed a
motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Johansen Expy. and Hunter
St. Investigation revealed Johann Filiaga, 23, of Fairbanks, failed to
exercise due care do avoid collision when his vehicle struck the rear of
a vehicle driven by Regine Hock, 46, of Fairbanks. Both vehicles
sustained minor damages, and Hock was transported to FMH for minor
injuries and released.

Text: On 11-07-2009 at 2230 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded
to the Sandvik Apartments for a burglary. An apartment had been entered
and several hundred dollars worth of electronics had been taken. Anyone

Text: On 11-08-09 Alaska State Troopers received a report that several
aluminum signs had been stolen from the gate of the Universal Space
Network facility on Bradway Rd. The signs were taken sometime during
the evening of 11-07-09 or the early morning of 11-08-09. The signs are
approximately 16 x 24 in. and easily identifiable with FCC markings.

Text: On 11/8/09 State Troopers from the Cooper Landing and Crown Point
Posts responded to a residence in Seward following a report of a
disturbance. Investigation led to the arrest of 18 year old Jesse
Atherton of Seward, after it was determined that he had assaulted two
family members. Atherton was transported and remanded at the Seward Jail
without bail.

Fish and Game, as was a condition of Harris’ brown bear hunt permit.
Bail was set at $110.00 and an optional court appearance is scheduled
for 11/12/09 in the Petersburg District Court.

Text:On 11/7/09 Bethel ABADE contacted Wade Shimanek, 24, who was
traveling from Bethel to the community of Goodnews Bay, Alaska.
Incident to the contact, 3(three) 1-gallon ‘burped’ bottles of Tree Top
apple juice were found in the checked bag of Shimanek. The apple juice
had been removed and replaced with an undetermined type of alcoholic
beverage. After his arrest, approximately 1/2 ounce of marijuana was
found hidden in the front of Shimanek’s pants.
Shimanek was transported to and lodged at YKCC in lieu of bail.
Goodnews Bay is a local option community which was voted to ban the
sale, importation and possession of alcohol as of 12/1/1983 and
2/1/1991.

Type: DUI, Refusal, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest
Text: On 11/7/09 at approximately 2332 hours, the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team responded to a residence located on Zephyr
Drive in Wasilla to the report of an intoxicated man sitting in a
vehicle in the driveway. Troopers contacted Joseph Stanistreet, age 46
of Houston, as he exited his 1990 Suzuki hatchback in the driveway of
the residence. Investigation determined Stanistreet had operated his
vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Stanistreet became combative and
was arrested for DUI, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. He was
transported to the AST Palmer Post where he refused to submit to a test
of his breath to determine the alcoholic content of his breath.
Stanistreet was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial facility where bail was
set at $1000.

Type: DUI / Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test / DWLS
Text: On 11/8/2009 at 0057 hrs, the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol,
Northern Region, responded to the report of a man slumped over the wheel
of a brown 1989 GMC pickup. Philip John Lawson, age 46 of Fairbanks,
was identified as the driver. Investigation revealed Lawson had been
operating the truck while impaired by alcohol. Further investigation
revealed his driving privileges in Florida had been suspended. Lawson
was arrested for DUI and Driving While License Suspended. At Fairbanks
AST post, he refused to give a sample of his breath for analysis. He
was further charged with Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. Lawson
was remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was held with no
bail pending arraignment.

Text: On 11/8/2009 at 0330 hrs, the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol,
Northern Region, stopped a silver 1999 Mazda car for erratic driving.
Corey Spears, age 35 of Fairbanks, was identified as the driver.
Investigation revealed he was driving the car while impaired by alcohol.
He was arrested for DUI. Spears was remanded at Fairbanks Correctional
Center. Bail was set at $1500.

Text: On Sunday, November 8, 2009, at approximately 0232 hours, Alaska
State Troopers Bureau of Highway Patrol, Kenai Peninsula Team conducted
a traffic stop on a red 1990 Chevy pick-up near mile post 120 of the
Sterling Highway, and contacted Donald Coverston, age 52 of Anchorage.
Ensuing investigation found that Coverston was intoxicated while
operating the red Chevy, and he was subsequently arrested for Driving
Under the Influence. Coverston was transported to Wildwood Pretrial
Facility where he was remanded without bail.

Type: NVOL / Allowing an Unauthorized Person to Drive
Text: On 11/7/2009 at 2325 hrs, the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol,
Northern Region, stopped a black 2002 Isuzu SUV for speeding. Megan
Michelle Hilton, age 16 of Fairbanks, was identified as the driver. One
of her passengers was Greg Erhart, age 18 of Fairbanks, the owner of the
SUV. Investigation revealed Hilton did not have a driver’s license and
further that Erhart allowed her to drive despite knowing that she was
unlicensed. Both were issued misdemeanor citations, Hilton for No Valid
Operator’s License, and Erhart for Allowing an Unauthorized Person to
Drive.

Type: Felony DUI/DWLR/Violating conditions of release
Text: On 11-8-09 at approximately 0250 hours the Alaska State Troopers
Bureau of Highway Patrol, South Central Team stopped a 1993 Ford Ranger
pickup for speeding on Bogard Road near Leatherleaf Drive in Wasilla.
The driver was identified as Lindsey Scudder (25 YOA of Wasilla).
Investigation revealed that Scudder was driving under the influence of
alcohol and with a revoked license. The DUI charge is a felony since
Scudder has been convicted of at least 2 DUI offenses within the past 10
years. Scudder was also in violation of conditions of release from a
prior assault charge, she wasn’t to consume any alcohol. Scudder was
arrested and booked into the Mat Su Pre Trial Facility on the charges of
Felony DUI, DWLR, and Violating Conditions of Release. Scudder’s bail
was set at $7,500.00 cash plus a court approved third party custodian.
The vehicle was impounded on scene. Scudder was issued a citation for
speeding.
