DUI patrols will increase because reported DUI drivers increase during the holidays. Don’t become a dangerous statistic – Drive Safe, Drive Smart!
Nov. 3, 2009 – Boise Police will increase DUI education and patrols throughout the holiday season in an effort to keep our highways safe for everyone.
DUI efforts increase during holiday periods because arrests show the incidence of DUI drivers tends to increase over holidays.
Boise Police are also focusing on DUI prevention efforts. Those education efforts began Halloween night, a busy Saturday, with free breathalyzer tests offered to citizens at the BPD mobile substation at 6th & Main downtown.
Boise Police made 13 DUI arrests Halloween night. Just above the 10 – 12 arrests typical of a Saturday night, and below the 15 DUI arrests made in the city Halloween night 2008.
Check back for more updates on DUI patrols and prevention education efforts.
Remember – Drive safe, drive smart – Don’t drink and drive.
