Major Incidents Reported for November 06, 2009
Aggravated Burglary:

Two suspects entered an unlocked door of a house in the 700 block of Avon Street around 5:30 yesterday evening. The suspects armed with handguns, demanded money and drugs from the residents. The female resident, along with two male friends, threw a chair at one suspect before tackling him to the floor. The female resident struck the suspect several times with a baseball bat. The males then held one suspect until police arrived. The second suspect fled the house. The female victim had a small child in the house at the time of the home invasion.

Officers arrested Erick D. May, 19, of Fried Street in Akron. He was charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Endangering Children and Aggravated Menacing. Erick May is being treated at a local hospital for injuries he sustained during the home invasion. He will eventually be booked into the Summit County Jail.

The second suspect is a black male, 17 – 25 years old and between 6’0” – 6’02” tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt pulled over his face. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.

Aggravated Robbery:

Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at Georgie’s Zoo, a bar located at 1312 Brittain Road last night. Employees and patrons reported the suspects entered the bar around 2:00 AM armed with handguns. The suspects ordered everyone to empty their pockets and the clerk to empty the register. The suspects fled with credit cards, cell phones, and a minimal amount of money.

The suspects are two black males, 25 – 30 years old. One suspect was about 5’08” tall and the other suspect was about 6’0” tall. They were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. Anyone with information is asked to contact our department.

Felony reports for November 6, 2009
Tommy Wayne Higgins Jr., 27, 945 Hardesty Blvd, Akron, Ohio was charged with Criminal Gang. Engaged in a pattern of criminal conduct, manufactured crack cocaine, possess crack and threatened a Deputy from Summit County Sheriff.

Robert C. Lukacic, 54, 1298 #4 Grant St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Domestic Violence. Robert has a prior conviction for domestic violence from 3-12-01 out of Portage County.

Erick D. May, 19, 902 Fried St., Akron, Ohio was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Robbery, Child Endangering and Aggravated Menacing. Erick and an unknown accomplice entered the victim’s home through an unlocked door. Erick held two victims at gun point and demanded money and drugs. The accomplice went to the basement where another victim was held a gun point and was told to give up money.

Anthony Williams, 45, 2281 11th St SW, Akron, Ohio was charged with Breaking and Entering. Anthony was involved in a B&E at 175 W Long St. He and accomplices were stealing a stove when the stove fell out of the back of the truck. Anthony and the others were arrested as they were putting the stove back into the back of the truck.
