Lakeside and Alpine California – Restraining Order Violation and Suicide

On November 05, 2009, at about 10:26 PM hours, Sheriff’s Deputies from the Santee Station received a radio call of a vehicle that crashed into a house on Via Del Luz in Lakeside and the house was on fire.
A witness reported seeing a blue truck leaving the scene.
Another witness reported this was possibly an intentional act. When deputies arrived, the blue truck was gone from the scene.
The only area of the house that was on fire was the front side wall where the natural gas line was struck.
The fire department and San Diego Gas and Electric arrived and were able to extinguish the fire and turn off the gas.
At about 10:32 PM, deputies from the Alpine Station responded to a report of a vehicle explosion in the area of 9500 Blossom Valley Rd in Alpine.
The vehicle was described as a truck, possibly a Toyota. The truck crashed into a palm tree and was now fully engulfing in flames and the driver was possibly still in the vehicle.
After deputies obtained witness statements from the Via Del Luz fire incident, it was determined the truck that was now on fire, is the same truck that crashed into the house in Lakeside. After the fire was extinguished, the charred remains of an human body were in the driver’s seat.
The medical examiner’s office took custody of the remains. Per the coroner’s office, the identification of the remains is pending.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Department are investigating the incident.
