Friday, November 6, 2009 Investigators will not be going back to the 12205 Imperial Avenue address today or for the foreseeable future. The location is still considered a crime scene and will continue to be secured by law enforcement. Cleveland Police are working closely with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office to evaluate investigative strategies. Two County Prosecutors have been assigned and will assist investigators with preparing for prosecution.
Cleveland Police Homicide detectives and members of Mental Health Service’s Violent Loss Response Team made notification to family members of another victim
Thursday, November 5, 2009 At 4:30 p.m. today, Cleveland Police Homicide detectives and members of Mental Health Service’s Violent Loss Response Team made notification to family members of another victim taken from 12205 Imperial Avenue. Tishana Culver, 31, of the 12300 block of Imperial Avenue was identified by the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office. Ms. Culver, who was born on August 31, 1978, was not reported as a missing person.
The Division of Police has re-established a Command Post near the Imperial Avenue crime scene.
Thursday, November 5, 2009The Division of Police has re-established a Command Post near the Imperial Avenue crime scene. Detectives with the Cleveland Police Homicide and Crime Scene Units will work with Cuyahoga County Coroner’s investigators to search for additional evidence and additional victims at and near Sowell’s Imperial Avenue residence. A cadaver dog will assist in the search. Additionally, detectives will coordinate with the Division of Fire to conduct today’s search. Fire personnel will work under the direction of the Bureau of Special Investigations to assist in the search.

Thursday, November 5, 2009 As of 11 am on Thursday, November 05, 2009, there are no new developments in the Imperial Avenue investigation. Cleveland Police Homicide Unit detectives continue to work with the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office to identify other victims and to identify a direction to further search the property and home for additional victims and evidence associated with the investigation.
Imperial Avenue Investigation – Victim identified – Family notified
Wednesday, November 4, 2009The Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office has identified the first victim found at 12205 Imperial through DNA evidence. Cleveland Police Homicide Detectives, accompanied by a representative from Mental Health Services Violent Loss Response Team made a notification to the family of Tonia Carmichael at 2 pm today. Ms. Carmichael was reported missing in Warrensville Hts. on November 10, 2008, she was 52 years of age when the report was made.
