Traffic Safety Checkpoint in Laguna Hills
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint in the City of Laguna Hills on Friday, November 6, 2009, from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
The checkpoints are set up to target drivers who are driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and/or without a driver’s license. Funding is a part of a grant provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The goal of the program is to reduce the number of citizens of Orange County who are killed or injured. Through these checkpoints the Orange County Sheriff’s Department hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage in each of our contract cities. Sheriff Sandra Hutchens and her Deputies are committed to working hand in hand with their contract city partners to provide a safe environment for the motoring public.
