Tucumcari – A wanted man out of Arkansas turns himself into the Motor Transportation Police at the San Jon Port.

Motor Transportation Police Officers were working at the San Jon port in Quay County yesterday when 25 y.o. Tristian Honey of Fort Smith Arkansas walked in and informed them he was wanted by the Fort Smith Police Department for shooting an officer. Without hesitation MTPD Officer Daniel Gonzales arrested Honey and secured his vehicle for the State Police Criminal Investigations Bureau for processing.

State Police has since learned that Honey had been stopped by Fort Smith Police Officer Barney Parsons, early Sunday morning and for an unknown reason jumped out of his vehicle and opened fire on Officer Parsons with a handgun. Through the processing of the vehicle agents located a bullet hole on the back of Honeys vehicle, it is unknown at this point how that single shot occurred. A hand gun was reported to of been in the vehicle.

Officer Parsons a 24 year veteran was listed in stable condition at the Fort Smith Hospital after taking gunfire to the chest, leg and foot. Honey is being held on a $1,000,000.00 cash only warrant in the Quay County Detention Center.
