Houston, Texas – Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Accident at 4100 North Freeway

November 2 , 2009 – Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4100 block of the North Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 North) about 1:05 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 1).
The male victim, 31, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. S. Law and Officer D. A. Ashford reported:
The driver of a gold Buick LeSabre was traveling southbound in the 4100 block of the North Freeway when the vehicle in front of him suddenly swerved to avoid hitting the victim, who was trying to run across moving lanes of traffic. The Buick was unable to avoid the victim and struck him.
The investigation is continuing.
