New Mexico – Dispute Turns into Homicide in Espanola

Espanola – Agents with the New Mexico State Police were called in to take over and investigate the Homicide of 56 y.o. Anthony Garcia in Espanola yesterday afternoon. The shooting death occurred off North McCurdy Rd. near Espanola. Anthony Garcia was at a gathering in the Santa Fe County Housing when a dispute broke out and shots were fired. After the shots rang out Anthony Garcia was transported to the Espanola Valley Medical Center, for multiple gun shot wounds to the chest. It was reported that he was deceased upon arriving at the medical center.
Anthony Garcia was later pronounced deceased at the Medical Center and the death was ruled as a Homicide by the Office of the Medical Investigator. The State Police Investigations Bureau is currently looking into the cause of the shooting and an arrest is pending.
