This afternoon, around 12:30pm, Spokane Valley Police officers responded to a report of a suicidal male inside a residence at 4727 E. 3rd Ave. The caller indicated his friend had threatened to hurt himself and had a gun.

Two officers responded to check the welfare of the 27 year old man. When they arrived, the suspect exited the house and confronted officers. Officers fired shots at the suspect. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for gunshot wounds. The two officers were not injured.

Spokane Police Department detectives are leading the investigation per the Critical Incident Protocol. City detectives work side by side with Valley detectives to complete the investigation.
