Las Cruces Police investigators learned that at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, Dominguez and Flores left a party on the 5500 block of Patagonia Drive with Flores’ 14-year-old daughter and her 12-year-old friend. As Dominguez drove off in the 2000 Acura Integra she began accelerating at a high rate of speed and then crashed at the intersection of Dunn Road and Reynolds Road on the city’s east mesa.
All four occupants of the vehicle were transported to area hospitals. Dominguez, Flores and Flores’ daughter received relatively minor injuries. The 12-year-old boy was airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso with a head injury. All injuries were believed to be non life-threatening.
Flores told investigators she knew they should not have been driving because they were all intoxicated.
Dominguez was incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $21,000. Bond for Flores was set at $20,000.
