Labadieville, Louisiana – Un-belted Driver Ejected and Killed in Assumption Parish Crash

Labadieville- Yesterday evening at approximately 7:30 PM, a Napoleonville man was killed in a single vehicle crash when his pickup truck went off the roadway ejecting the driver.
A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Lanny Davis (W/M, 29, of Napoleonville) was southbound on LA 308 just north of the Lafourche Parish line traveling at a high rate of speed. The Chevrolet went off the roadway to the right in a slight left curve. Davis overcorrected his vehicle to the left and subsequently crossed the center line and exited the left side of the roadway. His vehicle struck a culvert and came to rest in an open field.
Davis was not wearing his seat belt. He was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. Alcohol/ drug use is unknown at this time pending toxicology results from the Assumption Parish Coroner’s Office. This crash occurred on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at approximately 7:30 PM. Tpr. Burnell Dedeaux is continuing his investigation.
