Sobriety and Driver’s License Checkpoint

The Roseville Police Department will conduct a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint on Friday evening, September 18, in an undisclosed location where a significant number of DUI-related collisions and DUI arrests have occurred. Officers will screen all drivers passing through the checkpoint for sobriety and for a valid driver’s license. Drivers found to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs will be arrested, and unlicensed drivers will be cited or arrested.

The Roseville Police Department is continuing a concerted effort to get dangerous drivers off the road, and prevent alcohol-related injuries and deaths.  Extra officers patrolled the streets on grant-funded overtime throughout the month of August.  Thanks to the additional effort, the RPD arrested a total of 106 suspected drunk drivers in August, compared to 85 last August.

Funding for Roseville’s DUI enforcement efforts are provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
