Type:Warrant Arrests
Text:  On September 12, 2009, Alaska State Troopers arrested Michael
Medley, age 46 of Anchorage; and Dennis Poston, age 50 of Big Lake, for
two outstanding warrants.  Medley and Poston were contacted at Poston’s
residence in Big Lake after AST received a tip of their whereabouts.
Medley was arrested on a warrant for a pervious (DV) assault charge.
Poston was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Report to Serve Time on
an original charge of DUI.  Medley and Poston were transported to the
Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded into their custody.  Bail for
Medley was set at $1,500, and Poston was remanded to serve time.

Type: DUI, DWLR, and Avoidance of IID
Text: On 9/12/2009, approximately 0211 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a REDDI report in the Wasilla area.  Investigation lead AST
to a residence near mile 9 Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla and revealed
Mark A. Schwulst, age 51 of Wasilla, was operating a red 1999 Kawasaki
motorcycle while intoxicated, while his license was revoked, and in
avoidance of an Ignition Interlock Device.  Schwulst was arrested
without incident and remanded to MSPT where he was held on a total $6000
bail with a court appointed third party required.

Type: Improper Use of Evidence of Registration/Title
Text: On September 11, 2009, Alaska State Troopers stopped Adam
Casqueira, Age 24 of Big Lake, driving a 2000 Dodge Ram Pickup at the
Big Lake Superstore for an equipment violation.  Investigation revealed
the license plate of Casqueira’s vehicle did not belong to that vehicle.
Casqueira was issued a criminal citation to appear in court for
Improper Use of Evidence of Registration/Title and was released on
scene.

Type: ELUDING 2nd, DUI, DWLC
Text: On 9/12/2009 at approximately 0153 hours AST observed Brian W.
Berean, 34, of Big Lake., riding a Honda four wheeler eastbound on Big
Lake Rd. near Wasey Way. AST attempted to stop the four wheeler on Big
Lake Rd. Berean failed to stop at the direction of a Peace Officer. An
investigation revealed that Berean was operating a motor vehicle under
the influence of alcohol, and with a canceled driver’s license. Berean
was arrested for Eluding 2nd, DUI, and DWLC.  Bail was set at $7500 cash
only, and third party release. Berean was transported and remanded to
Mat-Su Pre-Trial.

Type:  Warrant Arrest
Text: On 09/12/2009, at approximately 1630 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Elizabeth Demoski, age 23 of Anchorage, while investigating a
disturbance at a residence off of Pope’s Rd, near Palmer.  Investigation
revealed that Demoski had an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to
appear on the original charge of DWLR.  Demoski was subsequently placed
under arrest for the warrant and was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial
Facility on $150.00 bail.

Location:  Jackson’s Trailer Park, Kodiak

Case Number:  09-82652

Type:  Assault

Text:  On 9-10-09 at approximately 1928 hours AST Kodiak responded to a
trailer on Turner Lane in Jackson’s Trailer Park after a resident in the
area heard screaming, yelling and breaking glass.  A highly intoxicated
41 year old female resident of Kodiak was contacted at a trailer; she
had a swollen eye and bloody lip.  She was not forthcoming with details
of the incident, repeatedly denied being assaulted, insisted she fell
down, and refused medical treatment.  Several hours later the women
called AST Kodiak and said she had been assaulted and wanted to press
charges.  The investigation is on going.

Text: On Saturday, 9-12-09, at about 0808 hours, a 59 YOA male resident
of Pasagshak reported intoxicated 49 YOA Miriam Lura McBride of
Washington broke his $349.99 cell phone when she “stomped on it” at his
Pasagshak River residence.  McBride was arrested for Criminal Mischief 4
and remanded at the Kodiak Jail without incident.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

Text: On 9-10-09 at 1050 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a
Motor Vehicle Collision at the intersection of University and Airport
Way. Investigation revealed that a 2008 Chrysler which was traveling
Westbound on Airport, was struck by a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier, which was
attempting to make a left hand-turn onto University. (from east bound
Airport Way) The Cavalier was driven by Steven Morrow, 28yoa, of
Fairbanks. Investigation revealed that Morrow failed to yield while
making a left turn onto University from Airport Way. Morrow was injured
in the collision and both drivers were reported to be wearing their
seatbelts. Damages to both vehicles were estimated at approximately
$5000 in value.

Text: On 09/12/09, at approximately 0320 hours, Alaska State Troopers
investigated a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of SBS in Soldotna.
Investigation revealed that the vehicle was being operated by Kristina
Marie Blackburn, age 21 of Soldotna.  Blackburn was subsequently
arrested for DUI after investigation revealed that she was driving under
the influence of alcohol.  Blackburn was remanded at Wildwood with a
$500 bail.

Type: Assault 4th degree
Text: On 9/9/09, at 1605 hours, Troopers received a report that Aundre
Turner, 44 of Seward, had assaulted his mother.  An investigation showed
that Turner was angry at his mother over a child custody issue and
assaulted her.  Turner was contacted at his residence and arrested
without incident.  Turner was remanded into the Seward Jail.

Type: Commercial Fishing:

Text: On 9/10/09, during Lower Yukon River game and commercial fishing
patrol via state float plane, Alaska Wildlife Troopers from St. Mary’s
issued citations to Billy Charles, 53 YOA of Emmonak, for failing to
have a CFEC permit and for employing an unlicensed crewman.  A citation
was also issued to Isaiah Charles, 21 YOA of Emmonak, for failing to
have a commercial crewmember license.

Text: On 9/12/2009 at=A00353 hrs, the AST Bureau of Highway Patrol,
Northern Region, stopped a silver 2002 Mazda car for speeding.  Andrew
Robert Becker, age 23 of Fairbanks, was identified as the driver.
Investigation revealed Becker was driving with a suspended driver’s
license.  He was issued citations and arrested for Driving While License
Suspended.  Becker was remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center where
bail was set at $1000.

Type: Probation Violation.
Text: On 9-11-09 at 2321 hrs, the AST Northern Bureau of Highway Patrol
stopped an older model Dodge truck for speeding. Investigation revealed
Alasdair A. Fletcher-Nolan, 31 YOA of Fairbanks, AK had consumed alcohol
and is on probation with conditions not to consume alcohol. Probation
Officers were contacted and advised to arrest for the probation
violation. A responsible driver arrived and took possession of the
vehicle. Fletcher-Nolan was remanded to FCC for violating conditions of
probation.

Location:  Richardson Hwy at Airport Exit, Fairbanks, AK.

Type: DUI / DUI Refusal, Leaving Scene of Accident, DC, Resisting
Arrest.
Text: On 9-12-09 at 0248 hrs, the AST Northern Bureau of Highway Patrol
received a report of a 2007 Ford Focus that collided into the curb
blowing out both tires near the Richardson Hwy and the intersection of
Airport. Investigation revealed the male left the scene of the accident
in a yellow cab. The Highway Patrol tracked the individual down and
contacted him in the cab. The driver was identified as Paul Jason
Lamont, 36 YOA of Anchorage AK. During the DUI investigation Lamont
begin to fight with Law Enforcement. Lamont was arrested and transported
to AST to provide a sample of his breath on the Datamaster. Lamont
refused to provide a sample of his breath on the  Datamaster. Lamont’s
vehicle was towed and Lamont was remanded at FCC for Leaving the Scene
of an accident, DUI, DUI Refusal, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting
Arrest.

Type:  MVC-Serious Injury
Text:  On 9/12/09 at approximately 0807 hours members of the ABHP South
Central Team along with Palmer AST patrol units responded to a reported
single vehicle collision at the end of Northshore Dr. at the Northshore
Campground in Big Lake.  The scene investigation determined Aaron
Johnson, age 31, of Anchorage was either operating or riding in a motor
vehicle that had failed to negotiate a turn at the entrance to the
campground, collided with several large boulders, and came to rest after
colliding with a dirt embankment.  Aaron Johnson suffered severe trauma
to his head and was flown to Providence Alaska Medical Center, then
transported by ambulance to the Alaska Native Medical Center where he is
currently in critical condition.  Alcohol and excessive speed appear to
have been contributing factors in this incident.  Investigation
continues.
