Type: Search and Rescue
Text: On 09/04/09 at 2045 hours, Alaska State Troopers, Juneau Police
Department, United States Coast Guard, and S.E.A.D.O.G.S. of Juneau
responded to a report of a suicidal male near Juneau. The 31 year old
man reportedly told his girlfriend that he was planning on mixing
alcohol with prescription medication to commit suicide on a local Juneau
beach. Search efforts on 09/04/09 were unsuccessful, but the man was
located on 09/05/09 at 0741 hours by his girlfriend on Douglas Island.
The man was uninjured other than being slightly hypothermic. He was
transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation.

Type: Industrial Accident – Fatality
Text: On 9/8/2009 at approximately 0400, Alaska State Troopers were
notified of an industrial accident that had occurred at Northland Barge
Services yard/dock in Thorne Bay. Thorne Bay EMS responded to the scene
and transported Washington resident, Robert Lundberg, age 46, to Alicia
Roberts Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Next of
kin have been notified. State Medical Examiner and OSHA were notified
as well.

Text: On 09/07/2009 at approximately 2130 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of an expected home death at a residence on McMillian
Court in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Mary C. Darling, age 93,
of Wasilla, had died of natural causes. Darling had Comfort One paper
work on file and her next of kin were notified. The State Medical
Examiners office was notified and the body will be released to Alaskan
Heritage Memorial Chapel at the request of the guardian. No foul play
is suspected.

Text: On 9/7/2009 approximately 1955 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence off of
Meadow Lakes Road in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Jason Tenderella,
age 33 of Wasilla, assaulted a family member and damaged the property of
a family member. The damaged property was valued at $300.00. Tenderella
was arrested for Assault 4 and Criminal Mischief 4. He was transported
to MSPT where he was remanded with no bail.

Text: On 09/08/2009, at approximately 0105 hours, the Alaska State
Troopers arrested Kazuko Y. Lewis-Warner, age 32, of Wasilla for Driving
Under the Influence. K. Lewis-Warner was contacted as the driver of a
vehicle which was reported as a REDDI. Investigation revealed that K.
Lewis-Warner was driving while impaired and under the influence of
alcohol. K. Lewis-Warner was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su
Pre-Trial Facility. Bail was set at $500 Cash Unsecured Bond.

Type: MVC-Injury
Text: On 09-08-09 at approximately 1400 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a single vehicle collision near the intersection of the Old
Glenn Highway and Our Rd. in Palmer. The driver of the vehicle was
identified as Anthony P. Draino, age 25, of Palmer. Investigation
revealed Draino was southbound on the Old Glenn Highway in a 2008
Chevrolet Silverado when a yellow SUV that was northbound entered his
lane of travel. Draino avoided the head on collision but failed to
negotiate the bend in the road. Draino reported wearing his seat belt.
Draino was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with non
life-threatening injury. Draino’s vehicle is estimated to be a total
loss.

Text: On 9/8/2009 at approximately 1012 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to the report of a missing 17 year-old male of Palmer who was
last seen at 1900 hours on 9/4/09. Investigation revealed the juvenile
had stayed the weekend at a friend’s and was truant from school on
9/8/2009. Investigation further revealed the 17 year old was on
juvenile probation for theft and had violated his conditions of
probation (curfew and truancy). The juvenile was transported and
remanded to Mat-Su Youth Facility.

Text: On 9/8/09 at 1840 hours, AST contacted Carrie Mace, 47, of Eagle
River during a traffic stop for speeding near Schrock Rd and Shadow,
near Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Mace does not have a valid
driver’s license. Mace was issued a misdemeanor citation for NVOL to
appear in Palmer Court and a citation for speeding.

Type: DUI / MVC-Damage Only
Text: On 09/08/09, at approximately 1849 hours, AST responded to the
intersection of Shampine Road and Alvins Alley for a single vehicle
collision. An investigation revealed Bojack M. Martin, age 24, of
Wasilla, was eastbound on Shampine Road in a 1994 Chevy Cavalier when he
failed to stop at the intersection of Alvin Alley and drove off the
road. Martin stated he was wearing a seatbelt and no injuries were
reported. Martin’s vehicle is considered a total loss. Investigation
also revealed Martin was operating under the influence of alcohol. He
was arrested for DUI and later transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial
Facility where he was remanded into their custody. Bail was set $500.

Type: DUI, Misconduct Involving Weapons (MIW) IV, Reckless Endangerment,
Probation Violation
Text: On 9/04/09 at 1815 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Dillingham
received a REDDI report that at mile 13 of the Aleknagik Lake road,
there was a blue pickup in the ditch and 45 year old Allen Hiratsuka of
Dillingham was trying to get help from passing motorists. The Alaska
State Troopers responded towards the scene and at mile ten of the
Aleknagik Lake road observed the REDDI vehicle to be traveling towards
Dillingham. Investigation revealed that 46 year old Nick Timurphy of
Dillingham was operating his 1992 Toyota pickup bearing the license
plate 7740CU while under the influence of alcohol. During the
investigation, two rifles were located inside of the pickup cab lying
next to intoxicated Allen Hiratsuka’s leg. In the back seat was
intoxicated 51 year old Katherine Hiratsuka of Dillingham. Katherine
was currently on Felony Probation during this investigation. Timurphy
was arrested for DUI, MIW IV and Reckless Endangerment, Allen was
arrested for MIW IV and Katherine was arrested for a Probation Violation
and they were all remanded at the Dillingham Correctional Facility.

Text: On September 5, 2009 at 1400 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Bethel responded to Mt. Village and conducted an investigation involving
extensive damage to a city vehicle. Investigation revealed that Garrett
MOSES, 26, of Mt. Village broke out every window to a 1993 Ford F350,
owned by the City of Mt. Village. Estimation of damage is over $500.
MOSES was arrested and transported to Bethel to await arraignment.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this case.

Text: On 09-06-09 at 0143 hours, Alaska State Troopers received report
of a domestic disturbance in the village of Selawik. Troopers responded
and investigation revealed Danny Tom Skin, 46 yoa of Selawik, assaulted
one of his relatives by strangulation. Skin is on probation for a
previous assault and was found to be in violation of his conditions of
probation. Skin was arrested and subsequently transported to and
remanded at the Kotzebue Regional Jail for one count each of Assault II
and Probation Violation. Alcohol was determined to be a contributing
factor to this assault.

Text: On 08-05-09 at 2018 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Kotzebue
received a report of an unattended death in the village of Selawik.
Investigation revealed Collins Telloorauk Sheldon, 65 yoa of Selawik,
succumbed to natural causes and died in his home during the morning
hours of 09-05-09. No foul play is suspected and the State Medical
Examiner’s Office was notified. The body was subsequently released to
family members.

Text: On 9/7/09 at approximately 1400 hours Gregory Bell, age 45 of
Kodiak, reported that the tail light to his white 1999 Pontiac Grand Am
was broken at a residence off of Eider Street in Kodiak. Investigation
revealed that a 15 year old teenager living at the residence had kicked
the taillight out breaking it. Charges against the teenager for the
broken taillight will be forwarded to Juvenile Justice.

Type: Assault Fourth Degree – DV
Text: On 09-07-09, Bethel AST received information from a resident of
Newtok who reported a family member assaulted her. Investigation by AST
and Newtok Village Police Officers revealed that Jack S. Tom, 45 of
Newtok had assaulted a family member as well as another community
member. Further Tom had reportedly discharged a shotgun while
intoxicated.
Tom was arrested and charged with one count of Assault Fourth
Degree-Domestic Violence, one count of Assault Fourth Degree and one
count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Fourth Degree. Tom was
transported to Bethel and lodged at YKCC pending arraignment. Alcohol
was involved.

Text: On 9/7/09 at approximately 1010 hours, Troopers received a call
from an individual who was reporting a 2009 red Ford Focus driving
erratically by swerving over the center line and on to the shoulder
while traveling north on the Parks Hwy at mile post 185. Troopers
determined that the vehicle, operated by Jason Alexander McCullough, 35
of Fairbanks, had driven into the ditch. McCullough will be charged
with Negligent Driving. Seatbelt useage is unknown.

Text: On September 7, 2009 at 0030 hours, the Alaska State Troopers
arrested Nathaniel Wayne Rouse, age 22 of Big Lake, for Driving Under
the Influence and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Fourth Degree
after Rouse was stopped for speeding on the Parks Highway near Cantwell.
Rouse was arrested then transported to the Fairbanks Correctional
Center where he was remanded for Driving Under the Influence and
Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Fourth Degree. Investigation
complete.

Case number: 09-77483
Type: Burglary 1st / Criminal Mischief 3rd
Text: On 9-1-09, Mike McCowan of Delta Jct. reported that his cabin,
located just east of Delta Jct., had been vandalized. Investigation
showed that vandals had forcibly entered the cabin that had been in his
family for over 50 years, and had destroyed much of the personal
belongings and family heirlooms stored in the cabin. The damage was so
extensive that it would take days of cleaning and conducting inventory
to determine if anything had been stolen. All outbuildings had been
damaged as well. There were indications that several visits were made
to the cabin by the vandal(s) over the summer. Damage and cleanup
estimates were between $10,000 and $20,000. Investigation continues.

Type: MVC – MOOSE
Text: On 9-5-09 at 2201 hours, AST received a report of a single vehicle
collision with a moose at MP 1411 Alaska Highway. Investigation showed
that Vern AITON, 67 of Delta Jct., was driving a 2005 Toyota Tacoma west
on the Alaska Highway during hours of darkness. A bull moose ran across
the highway in front of AITON’s pickup and was struck and killed by the
pickup. The pickup sustained major front end damage and had to be towed
from the scene and the moose was salvaged by a charity. There were no
injuries. Seatbelts were used by all occupants. No enforcement action
was taken.

Type: MVC – MOOSE
Text: On 9-7-09 at 2254 hours, AST received a report of a single vehicle
versus moose collision near MP 273 Richardson Highway. Investigation
showed that Marchell L. DELANGE, 37 of Delta Jct., was driving a 2001
Chrysler sedan south near MP 273 at about 60 MPH. An adult bull moose
was standing in the roadway in the path of the Chrysler. DELANGE was
unable to avoid striking the moose and collided with the moose, killing
it instantly. None of the occupants were injured. The Chrysler
sustained major body damage and had to be towed from the scene. A local
charity salvaged the moose. No enforcement action was taken. All
occupants wore safety restraints.

Text: On 9-6-09 at approximately 1531 hours, Troopers responded to a
reported two vehicle collision at mile 1.1, North Fork Road. Trooper’s
investigation revealed Thomas J. Barclay, 40 yoa of Anchor Point, had
intentionally rammed the rear of his wife Tammy Barclay’s car, while
occupied by Tammy and her son Joseph, 13 yoa, with his pickup. Thomas
fled the scene while Tammy was treated by Anchor Point EMS for minor
injuries then transported to Southern Peninsula Hospital. Thomas was
located near 153 Sterling Hwy and subsequently arrested for: Felony DUI,
felony refusal, Assault II/DV and Assault III/DV. Thomas was remanded to
Homer jail with no bail.

Type: Driving in Violation of an Instructional Permit
Text: On 9/7/09, at 1840 hours, Troopers stopped a vehicle near mile 87
of the Sterling Highway for speeding. The driver was identified as
Hailey Dent, 17 of Nikiski. During the stop it was found that Dent was
in violation of her instructional permit by not having a licensed
driving in the vehicle with her. Dent was cited into court and
released.

Type: MICS IV, VCOR, Operate vehicle w/out insurance, MOCCA, MCA
Text: On August 27th, 2009, at approximately 0228 hours, Soldotna AST
conducted a traffic stop on a 1990 Chevrolet Blazer for an equipment
violation near mile 9 of the Kenai Spur Highway. The driver and sole
occupant was identified as Jan Hagen, 19 years old of Soldotna. Hagen
had consumed alcohol prior to operating the vehicle. Hagen was on
conditions of release which stated he was not to be in possession of or
consume alcohol. Further investigation revealed Hagen did not have
vehicle liability insurance coverage. Hagen was arrested and transported
to Wildwood Correctional Facility. An inventory search of Hagen’s
pockets in the Wildwood booking area recovered two unknown pills. One
of the pills was identified as oxycodone, a schedule IA controlled
substance.

Text: On August 28th, 2009, at approximately 0135 hours, Soldotna AST
stopped a 2006 Toyota Tundra for speeding near mile 81 of the Sterling
Hwy. When Troopers contacted the driver, a strong odor of fresh
marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle. The driver, Carmen
Perzechino, 47 years old of Sterling, denied any marijuana existed
inside the vehicle. The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was
applied for and granted. Troopers seized 44 grams of marijuana from the
vehicle as a result of the search. Perzechino was issued a summon to
appear in Kenai court for MICS VI.

stopped a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder for speeding near mile 25 of the Kenai
Spur Highway. The driver was identified as Judy Smith, 37 years old of
Nikiski. Subsequent investigation revealed Smith was operating the
vehicle without any valid liability insurance. Smith was arrested and
transported to Wildwood Correctional Facility.

Text: On 9-7-09 at approximately 1335 hours Soldotna AST contacted Tim
Pope, age 42 of Sterling, after the vehicle he was driving passed a
Central Emergency Services fire engine, which was responding to a fire
with its overhead lights activated, at a high rate of speed. This
occurred at about 88 mile Sterling Hwy. Pope admitted to passing the
emergency vehicle. Pope was issued a summons to appear in Kenai court
for reckless driving.

Text: On 9/6/09, Sean P. Brownell 44 YOA of Haines AK, was cited by the
Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Cordova Post. BROWNELL the permit holder of a
Tsiu river set net site was cited for waste of salmon/throwing chum
salmon overboard and for a gear violation, setting his net over more
than half of the Tsiu river. BROWNELL’s arraignment date was set for
10/28/09 in the District Court of Cordova.
