Traffic Safety Checkpoint in Mission Viejo
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint in the City of Mission Viejo on Sunday, September 6, 2009, from 7:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m.
The checkpoints are part of a grant the Sheriff’s Department received from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety, and are set up to target drivers who are driving a vehicle without a driver’s license and / or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Funding for this grant was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Through implementation of these events, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage in each of our contract cities.
