Text: On 09-03-09 at approximately 1254 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a residence on North Kentucky Derby Drive in Palmer for a
reported domestic disturbance. Alaska State Troopers contacted Rick
Bloom, age 48 of Palmer. Investigation revealed that Rick Bloom
assaulted a family member. Bloom was arrested and remanded to the
Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility were he was held with no bail.

Text: On 9/2/09 at approximately 0704 hours, AST stopped a gray Dodge
pick-up, bearing Alaska plate FPP337, on Bogard Road near Trunk Road in
Wasilla for a moving violation. Investigation revealed the operator,
Misty Buckles age 25 of Wasilla, was driving while her license was
suspended. Buckles was issued citations for DWLS, Passing on the Right
and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.

Type: Aircraft Crash (damage only), SAR
Text: On 9/2/09, approximately 1300 hours, a float plane piloted by Kirk
Gay, age 65, of Anchorage, crash landed in the tundra approximately 6
miles northeast of the village of Koliganek. Gay and another fishing
guide had flown two fishing clients into the area to fish on the
Nushagak River from their lodge on Six Mile Lake. They were on there
way back to the lodge when the aircraft’s engine stalled and Gay made an
emergency landing. No one was injured as a result of the crash, but the
aircraft’s floats were badly damaged. Using a satellite telephone, Gay
was able to contact the Iliamna Air Taxi Service in Iliamna, who alerted
authorities of the crash. AST Dillingham was eventually notified and an
AWT aircraft and two troopers were dispatched to the scene. RCC
Anchorage was also notified, along with the FAA and the NTSB. The
Pebble Mine in Iliamna was contacted and they agreed to donate a
helicopter from their operation to retrieve Gay and the three other
members of his party. The four men were picked up by the helicopter
approximately 1630 hours and they were returned the fishing lodge at
1800 hours.

Type: Assault II, Assault IV x 2
Text: On 9-3-09 at approximately 1133 hours, Troopers received a report
of a disturbance in the village of Kiana. Investigation determined that
Arthur Barr, 37, of Kiana assaulted a female family member by
strangulation and placing her in fear while outside of a residence.
While Troopers were en route to Kiana for the investigation, Arthur
chased the female causing her to seek safety inside a public building.
Barr was arrested by the Kiana village police officer without incident
and transported to Kotzebue Regional Jail with no bail pending
arraignment. Alcohol was not a factor during the incident.

Text: On 8-25-09 at 0209 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in King Salmon
were notified of an assault that had occurred in the village of
Kokhanok. Troopers responded to the village and the investigation
determined that Natalia Wassillie, age 53 of Kokhanok had assaulted her
husband, Trefim Wassillie, age 49 also of Kokhanok. Natalia Wassillie
was arrested on the charge of domestic violence assault and was
transported to the King Salmon jail. Alcohol was a factor in the
assault.

Text: On 7-20-09, Alaska State Troopers, Aniak Post received a report
that a Purple Polaris RMK 700, was taken from a cabin across the
Kuskokwim River from Aniak. The snowmachine was last seen in November
2008, and found to be missing in December 2008. If anyone has any
knowledge of the whereabouts of the snowmachine, please notify the Aniak

Text: On 9/4/09 at 0858 hours, Edmond Houtte, age 58 of Palmer reported
that two of his outboard motors had been vandalized. Investigation
revealed that some parts had been taken while others had been damaged.

Text: On September 1, 2009, the Bethel post of the Alaska State Troopers
received a report that a 15 year old male juvenile assaulted a teacher
in the community of Tuluksak. The incident occurred inside the school
and no weapons were used. The student was removed from the school and
is trespassed from the premises. Criminal charges are being forwarded.

informed of damage to the Akiak airport runway. Investigation revealed
that an unknown person(s) broke 29 runway lights during the night. At
this time, an estimation of the damages is still unknown. This is the
second time Akiak has had runway lights damaged in as many years. Alaska
State Troopers and Akiak PD are asking anyone with information to please

Text: On 9-3-09, at approximately 2020 hours, Alaska State Troopers
(AST) responded to Tetlin following a report of a disturbance. During
the investigation Alaska State Troopers contacted Billy K. Sam, age 28
of Tetlin. Subsequent investigation revealed that Sam had an outstanding
Tok AST warrant for his arrest. Sam was arrested; during the arrest
troopers located an amount of controlled substance on Sam’s person. Sam
is being charged with one count of misconduct involving a controlled
substance. He was transported to the Tok holding facility awaiting
arraignment.

Text: On 9-4-09 at approximately 1823 hours, AST responded to a report
of a motor vehicle rollover located near mile 268 of the Richardson
Highway. AST investigation determined Barry C. Williams of Anchorage
was northbound driving a 1998 pickup. Williams was slowing to turn into
the Green Acres RV park. Colleen York 27, of Delta Junction was also
northbound following William’s vehicle in a 2000 Jeep. York did not see
Williams slowing down in time and attempted to avoid a collision by
steering toward the right side of the road. The vehicle left the
roadway onto a steep shoulder and rolled one time. York was not
injured and was wearing a seatbelt. York’s vehicle was totaled and was
towed from the scene.

C. McCall, age 33, of Nikiski. Investigation revealed McCall had a
Soldotna AST warrant for her arrest for Theft in the Second Degree.

Text: On 9-3-09 at 0041 hours, AST contacted Jan Hagen 19 YOA of Kasilof
after he was observed operating a 4-wheeler on the roadway. Hagen
attempted to avoid contact by fleeing on the 4-wheeler. Then ran into
the woods after his 4-wheeler got stuck in a swamp. AST investigation
disclosed Hagen was driving under the influence, driving with a revoked
operators license, and had violated his conditions of release. Hagen was
placed under arrest and transported to Wildwood Pretrial. Hagen was also
charged with minor consuming alcohol, minor operating a motor vehicle
after consuming alcohol, and eluding in the second degree.

Type: (MVC) Motor Vehicle Collision.
Text: On 9-3-09 at 1729 hrs, the AST Northern Bureau of Highway Patrol
responded to the Glenn Hwy near Inner Springer loop for a report of a
non injury two vehicle collision. Upon arrival investigation revealed
Cassandra Sullivan 23 YOA of Palmer, AK was traveling west bound on the
Glenn Hwy near Inner Springer Loop. Sullivan was operating an older
model Ford truck and swerved to avoid a collision with a vehicle that
pulled out in front of her from Inner Springer Loop. Sullivan side
swiped a newer model Ford truck traveling East bound. The newer model
Ford truck was operated by Joe Webster 53 YOA of Palmer, AK. Further
investigation revealed Sullivan was operating her vehicle with no
insurance and expired registration. Sullivan was issued a misdemeanor
summons for operating the motor vehicle with no insurance and also a
traffic citation for operating the vehicle with no insurance and expired
registration. There were no injuries reported and both parties were
released at the scene.

Text: On 9/3/09 at approximately 1518 hours the AST Bureau of Highway
Patrol, South Central Team stopped a vehicle near mile 73 of the Seward
Highway, near Portage, for a moving violation. The operator was
identified as Michael V. Reeves, age 24, of Anchorage. Reeves was found
to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was for
$500.00, for failure to appear on the original charge of driving without
insurance. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Hannah E.
Settje, age 22, of Anchorage. Settje also had a warrant for her arrest.
The warrant was a $250.00 warrant for failure to satisfy judgment on
the original charge of MCA. Reeves and Settje were arrested on the
warrants and remanded at the Anchorage Jail.

Text: On 9-4-09 at 1511 hours the Alaska State Troopers Bureau of
Highway Patrol South Central team attempted to stop a 1996 Honda
motorcycle for speeding near mile 8 Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla. The
motorcycle failed to stop and was pursued outbound on KGB approximately
6 miles at speeds in excess of 100 MPH before the pursuit ended when the
rider was unable to make a turn on a side road near mile 14 Knik Goose
Bay Road. The driver identified as Ryan Jewett (23 YOA of Wasilla) was
taken into custody without further incident. The motorcycle was
impounded on scene. Jewett was remanded into the Mat Su Pre Trial
Facility on the charges of Eluding I, Reckless Driving and No Insurance.
Jewett’s bail was set at $10,000 cash.
