A West Nashville man is scheduled to appear on the Jail Docket Monday on charges that he was growing hallucinogenic mushrooms, a schedule one controlled substance, inside his 6110 Freedom Drive home.

Kevin Michael Trostel, 24, is charged with manufacturing mushrooms, possession of mushrooms for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor marijuana possession for having a tray of marijuana brownies on the stove in his kitchen.

Specialized Investigations Division detectives recovered 14 pans of mushrooms that were being grown in Trostel’s bedroom, along with 60 jars of mushrooms.  Evidence suggests Trostel was shipping the product to persons in other parts of the country.

Trostel’s bond is set at $33,000.
