Troop G: Patrol To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint
August 24, 2009
Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Shannon County sometime in the month of September. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies will conduct the checkpoint.
Sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove careless and intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts, hazardous driving contacts, and traffic crashes.
Captain Chadwick says, “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is committed to saving lives through effective enforcement of our traffic laws. We will use checkpoints as a tool to accomplish that goal.”
