Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled to Stop Impaired Driving
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is teaming up with State Troopers from Alabama and several local agencies from both states for a “Hand Across the Border” initiative focusing on stopping impaired driving. On Friday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m., officials from several law enforcement agencies will join together to officially launch the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest.” enforcement campaign.
The goals of the “Hands Across the Border” effort and the “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest.” campaign are simple: to increase highway safety and stop impaired driving.
