Houston, Texas – Charges Filed in Fatal Traffic Accident at 12200 Almeda Road

August 3, 2009 – Charges have been filed against a suspect involved in a fatal traffic accident in the 12200 block of Almeda Road about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 1).
The suspect, Sandra Suazo (H/f, DOB: 9-30-70), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 177th State District Court.
The victim, 19, a female passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer A. Hart reported:
The driver of a white Honda Civic, with a female passenger, was stopped at a stop light at Almeda Road. Suazo, who was driving a red Toyota Tundra southbound on Almeda Road, then struck the rear of the Honda. The passenger in the Honda was killed and the driver was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Suazo was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with minor injuries and then taken into custody.
