07/29/09 – The New York State Police in Dover Plains are investigating a fatal industrial accident which claimed the life of an Amenia man. At approximately 1:00PM SP Dover Plains uniformed troopers answered a 911 poll for an accident at a construction site in the area of 41 Benson Rd in the Town of Amenia.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Donald Flood III, 23 of Wassaic was operating an Ingersoll Rand Asphalt Roller at the construction site when he fell from the machine and was struck and killed. The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing. The Dutchess County Sheriffs Department, Dutchess County Office of the Medical Examiner, Wassaic Fire Department, and Northern Dutchess Paramedics assisted at scene.
