Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled

The Las Cruces Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint within city limits sometime this weekend between the dates of July 24-26, 2009.
The checkpoint is part of the police department’s efforts to reduce and eliminate the number of motorists who drive while intoxicated. The enforcement activities also may include saturation, underage and party patrols.
The Las Cruces Police Department encourages those who plan on consuming alcoholic beverages to arrange ahead of time and use a designated driver – someone who will not be drinking – for their transportation needs.
