The driver of a Dodge Stratus that crashed into a tractor in the 3400 block of Lebanon Pike on June 23rd killing a 13-year-old girl will face charges in Nashville after he is released from jail in Chattanooga.
Jonathan L. Flippo, 18, who was arrested over the weekend in Chattanooga for vandalism and evading arrest, is wanted in Nashville on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, failure to report an accident, driving without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jessica Burkhart of Chattanooga, a rear seat passenger in the Stratus, was killed when the car crashed into a John Deere tractor on the shoulder of Lebanon Pike. Flippo fled the scene to a nearby apartment complex. He and two other passengers were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. The investigation led to the issuance of arrest warrants against Flippo on June 26th.
