Norwich, New York – State Police Investigate Two Car Motor Vehicle Accident In Norwich

(Norwich, NY – July 13, 2009) On July 12, 2009, The New York State Police at Norwich, N.Y., investigatied a 2 car serious personal injury accident which occurred at approximately 3:13 PM, on State Route 12 in the Town of Norwich, Chenango County, N.Y. The investigation reveals that vehicle #1, a 2009 Toyota, operated by 73 year old Clifford G. Williams of Ilion, N.Y., was northbound on State Route 12 in the Town of Norwich.

Vehicle #2, a 2000 Buick operated by 41 year old Brian R. Conant of Norwich, N.Y., was stopped in the driveway of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witness, located at 5250 State Route 12 in the Town of Norwich, preparing to enter State Route 12. Vehicle #1 veered of the roadway and struck the driver’s side of vehicle #2.

Driver of vehicle #2 air lifted by Guthrie Air to Wilson Regional  Medical Center in Johnson City, N.Y., where he is listed in critical condition. Two other occupants of vehicle #2, 49 year old Teresa S. Conant and 67 year old Iris Delgado both of Norwich, N.Y., were transported by ambulance to Wilson Regional Medical Center, where Teresa Conant is listed in critical but stable condition and Iris Delgado is listed in serious condition. The driver of Vehicle #1, and two other occupants, 36 year old Jason E. Williams and a 7 year old boy, all of Ilion, N.Y., were transported by ambulance to Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, N.Y., where Clifford and Jason Williams are listed in stable condition.

The 7 year old boy was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y., for observation in the pediatric ward. City of Norwich Fire Department, Oxford Fire Department, Sherburne Fire Department, Cooperstown Medical Transport and Chenango County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
