Florida – Tampa Police Investigate New Tampa Shooting

Tampa, FL July 13, 2009 -
Shooter: Marcos Antonio Trujillo, W/M, 5/13/37, 6103 Coral Bay Rd., Tampa
Deceased: Carlos Humberto Ibanez Arias, H/M, 2/19/72, 16217 Compton Heights Place, Tampa.
Tampa Police Dispatch received a call around 9:30 p.m. on 07/12 from a man who said he shot someone who was trying to break into his apartment at 6103 Coral Bay Dr., Tampa. Once officers arrived on scene, they discovered a 36-year-old Hispanic male on the ground. Tampa Fire Rescue tried to resuscitate him, but they were unsuccessful. He was shot in the upper body. Homicide detectives are working with the State Attorney’s Office to determine if the shooting was justified. Detectives are still investigating the shooting and they don’t expect a decision until next week
