McGinnis with two other juveniles and when they reached the top of the

Clark’s backpack slipped down the backside of the mountain and he went

low lying clouds in the area and he did not respond to their calls, so
they contacted Clark’s father and he in turn contacted AST.  At 1600

vicinity of Clark’s last know location to begin a search of the area.
At 2138 hours, a helicopter conducting a search with a FLIR located
Clark’s body approximately 1,200 feet from the top of Mount McGinnis
adjacent to a snow chute.  Due to the low light conditions and poor
weather Clark’s body was not able to be removed from the mountain.  On
7/2/09, at 0500 hours, 4 members from JMR were airlifted to an area to
secure Clark’s body and transport it off the mountain.  At 1207 hours,
Clark’s body was airlifted to the Army National Guard hangar in Juneau
and then released to the Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary.  The State
