Florence, Arizona – Queen Creek Incident Leads to Death, Arrest

Florence, Ariz . On June 29, 2009 at approximately 12:30 in the afternoon, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 500 block of Preakness Road in Queen Creek, Ariz. for a reported accidental shooting.
Upon their arrival, deputies and emergency medical responders found the victim, Louis Joseph Moreno (DOB 11-10-1988), inside the residence with an apparent fatal gunshot wound to his head.
Mr. Gilberto Flores Santana, the renter of the residence, was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center charged with weapons violations and possession of stolen property, not directly related to Moreno’s death.
At this time the circumstances known to Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigator’s indicate this incident may have been accidental, however the investigation is still active and pending the autopsy results.
