State Police in Ogdensburg investigated an atv personal injury accident on West Lake Road, Town of Depeyster at approximately 1:15 p.m. A 14 year old from Ontario, NY, was operating a 2008 Yamaha ATV, Eastbound on West Lake Road at a high rate of speed. The operator failed to negotiate a right hand curve, ran off the roadway and struck a utility junction box supported by a wooden 4×4 post. The atv became airborne and struck a barn and a brick abutment, ejecting the operator who was then transported to Claxton hospital by Ogdensburg Rescue Squad and then was airlifted to Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt, for head and right wrist pain. The operator is currently in stable condition.
