Field Sobriety Checkpoint
CONCORD – On June 26, 2009 at approximately 9:00 PM, the Concord Police Department and the Merrimack County DUI Task Force conducted a Field Sobriety Checkpoint on Loudon Road in Concord. This checkpoint also included one Officer who was assigned to a DWI roving patrol.
At approximately 10:00 PM, while in the process of setting up the checkpoint, a vehicle traveling west on Loudon Road drove over several traffic cones. The operator was stopped and subsequently arrested for Driving While Impaired.
There were a total of five individuals arrested at the checkpoint with charges including Driving While Impaired, Possession of a Controlled Drug, Transportation of a Controlled Drug, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle. In addition, one minor was taken into Protective Custody and several motor vehicle summonses were also written.
Participating agencies included the Allenstown Police Department, Chichester Police Department, Concord Police Department, Epsom Police Department, Pembroke Police Department, and the State of New Hampshire Liquor Enforcement.
This Sobriety Checkpoint was funded in part through grants awarded by the New Hampshire Highway Safety Agency.
