On June 19, 2009, deputies responded to Piney Point Road in Callaway for a report of a disturbance. The investigation revealed Dionta Quantiaus Taylor, age 22 of Callaway, was in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Taylor threw the victim against the wall several times. Taylor was arrested for Second Degree Assault.
On June 16, 2009, deputies responded to a residence on North Essex Drive in Lexington Park for a reported violation of a Peace Order. The investigation revealed on May 12, 2009 a Peace Order was served on John Winfield Carter Jr., age 34 of Great Mills, ordering that Carter have no contact with the victim. On June 16, 2009, Carter telephoned the victim in violation of the court order. Carter was arrested and charged with Violating a Peace Order.
On June 20, 2009, deputies responded to a residence on Orchid Lane in Lexington Park for a report of an assault. The investigation revealed Joshua Allen Carroll, age 22 of Lexington Park, punched the victim several times in the face. Carroll had fled the scene. Later in the evening Carroll responded to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. Carroll was interviewed, arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault.
On June 20, 2009, a lookout was broadcast for brown Subaru with Pennsylvania registration. The occupants of the vehicle were reported throwing a firecracker at a vehicle as they were driving down the roadway. The vehicle was located, stopped and the occupants identified. Further investigation identified Matthew Wade Fregm, age 22 of York, Pennsylvania, the front passenger of the vehicle, as the individual who threw the firecracker out the window at the victim’s vehicle. Fregm was arrested and charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.
On June 20, 2009, Deputy Michael Worrey responded to Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for a report of a domestic assault in progress. When Deputy Worrey arrived, he observed John Andrew Wilson, age 33 of Leonardtown, standing over the victim. The investigation revealed Wilson threw the victim to the ground, beat and kicked her. The victim is four months pregnant. Wilson was arrested and charged with First and Second Degree Assault.
On June 21, 2009, Deputy Michael Boyer observed a vehicle he thought matched the description of a vehicle reported stolen the day prior. The driver of the vehicle noticed Deputy Boyer watching him and attempted to evade Deputy Boyer’s observation. Deputy Boyer stopped the vehicle and approached the driver. The vehicle was not the same vehicle reported stolen. As Deputy Boyer was speaking with the driver, Clifton Earl Williams Jr., age 19 of Aquasco, Deputy Boyer detected an odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed a quantity of marijuana and suspected crack cocaine in the vehicle. Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance – Marijuana and Crack Cocaine.
On June 21, 2009, deputies responded to Three Notch Road in Hollywood for a report of a domestic assault in progress. The investigation revealed Todd Eric Meneely, age 46 of Hollywood, was in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical assault when Meneely grabbed the victim by the neck and pulled her out of her vehicle. Meneely was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault. On June 21, 2009, deputies responded to Hearts Desire Way in Mechanicsville for a report of a disturbance. The investigation revealed Sean Patrick Murphy, age 23 of Mechanicsville, was in engaged in a civil dispute with the victim. Further investigation revealed on July 23, 2008, Murphy was served with a Protective Order ordering no contact between him and the victim. The Protective Order was still in effect. Murphy was arrested for Violating the Conditions of a Protective Order.
On June 21, 2009, deputies responded to Columbus Drive in Lexington Park for a report of a domestic assault in progress. The investigation revealed Brian Marcus Ceasar, age 28 of Lexington Park, was engaged in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical assault when Ceasar threw the victim onto a bed causing injury to the victim’s arm. Ceasar was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault.
On June 21, 2009, deputies responded to Hermanville Road in Lexington Park for a report of a fight in progress. The 13-year-old female victim reported Wesley Aaron Scriber, age 45 of Callaway, grabbed her by the throat, picked her off the floor and slammed her into a wall because Scriber believed she pushed her younger sibling. The victim suffered injuries to her throat, face and elbow. When another adult in the residence attempted to intervene and stop the assault, Scriber pulled the victim’s hair and pushed the victim. Scriber fled the residence prior to the deputies’ arrival but was located a short time later, arrested and charged with Child Abuse and Second Degree Assault.
On June 22, 2009, deputies responded to a residence on Great Mills Court in Lexington Park for a report of a domestic assault in progress. The investigation revealed George Leroy Chase Jr., age 33 of Lexington Park, was in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Chase bit the victim on the forehead causing an abrasion. Chase was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault.
On June 22, 2009, Corporal Deborah Milam stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified through her driver’s license. A computer check of the driver revealed she was a petitioner of an active Protective Order. The Protective Order prohibited Sean Patrick Murphy, age 23 of Mechanicsville, from contacting the petitioner. Murphy was the passenger of the vehicle. Murphy was arrested and charged with Violating the Conditions of a Protective Order.
On June 22, 2009, deputies responded to the vicinity of Pleasant Drive in Lexington Park in attempt to locate Michael Anthony Somerville Jr., age 25 of Lexington Park, who was wanted on an outstanding Second Degree Assault Warrant. Somerville was arrested on the warrant. At the time of arrest, Somerville was in possession of a prescription bottle with an altered prescription label. The prescription bottle contained percocet and xanax, both controlled dangerous substances. Somerville was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Prescription Bottle With Altered Label.
On June 22, 2009, Corporal Brian Connelly responded to Target Department Store in California for a report of theft. The investigation revealed an employee, William Lawrence Crowell III, age 24 of California, was observed via surveillance cameras placing electronic items into a cardboard box. Crowell then walked the box, containing the items out of the store without paying for them. Further investigation revealed Crowell had stolen numerous other electronic items between the dates of June 8, 2009 and June 22, 2009. Crowell was arrested and charged with Theft Over $500.00 and Committing a Theft Scheme. The total loss value in the thefts exceeded $4,000.00.
On June 22, 2009, Corporal Joseph Somerville responded to Cheryl Court in Mechanicsville for a report of a missing juvenile. The investigation revealed the juvenile, a 13- year-old female, continuously sneaks out of her mother’s and/or father’s residence to meet Roy James Phillips, age 19 of Derwood. Phillips is an adult and the missing juvenile is a minor. Phillips has been told numerous times by the juvenile’s mother to stay away and have no contact with her daughter. Phillips refuses to comply with the mother’s demand. The mother advised Phillips telephones her daughter and then her daughter sneaks out of the house to meet him. A short time later, the missing juvenile was located with Phillips. Phillips was arrested and charged with Contributing to the Condition of a Minor for taking the juvenile out of the care and custody of a parent without the parent’s permission.
On June 22, 2009, deputies responded to North Essex Drive in Lexington Park for a report of an assault involving a handgun. The investigation revealed Francis Otha Evans Jr., age 71 of Lexington Park, was in verbal dispute with the victim. When the victim refused to leave his room, Evans pulled a 32-caliber revolver from his nightstand drawer, pointed the handgun at the victim and told the victim to leave. The victim fled the room fearing for her life and called 911. Deputies located the revolver along with 32-caliber bullets in the nightstand drawer. Evans was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Using a Handgun Capable of Being Concealed Upon the Person in the Commission of a Felony/Crime of Violence.
On June 23, 2009, deputies responded to the parking lot at St. Mary’s Hospital for a report of an assault. The investigation revealed Patrick Alfonso Gayle, age 22 of Lexington Park, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Gayle grabbed the victim by the neck scratching the victim. Gayle was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault.
On June 24, 2009, Deputy Thomas Seyfried responded to the Wal-Mart Store in California for a report of a theft. The investigation revealed the Loss Prevention Officers for Wal- Mart observed Gary Mitchell Quade Jr., age 27 of Leonardtown, take DVD’s from the shelf, walk to another section of the store, remove the DVD’s from the packing and place them in his pocket. Quade then walked past all points of purchase and exited the store. Quade was stopped outside the store by the Loss Prevention Officers and detained until Deputy Seyfried arrived. Quade was arrested and charged with Theft.
On June 24, 2009, deputies responded to a residence on Langley Park Way in Lexington Park and served a Protective Order on Tyrone Arthur Coleman, age 42 of Great Mills. The Protective Order ordered Coleman to vacate the property and have no contact with the petitioner of the order who was at the residence. The deputies escorted Coleman off the property and instructed him not to return. A few minutes later deputies, who were still on Langley Park Way, witnessed Coleman yelling at the petitioner of the Protective Order who was standing on her porch. Coleman was arrested and charged with Violation of a Protective Order.
On June 24, 2009, Deputy Scott Ruest responded to the Bay District Fire Department for an assault. The victim of the assault was at the fire department being treated for an injury to his forehead. The investigation revealed Cora Elizabeth Thomas, age 62 of Owings, was engaged in a verbal altercation which became physical when Thomas struck the victim in the arm and head with a baseball bat. Thomas, who was also was at the firehouse, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault.
During a previous operation that involved a popular website, Mia Marissa Carroll, age 28 of California, was charged with Prostitution and Theft Under $500.00. Carroll corresponded through a contact site she set up on “Craigslist” and arranged for a meeting with the undercover officer. The meeting took place at a local hotel and she was arrested. She attempted to conceal some of the money on her person as she was taken into custody. She was charged on a Criminal Summons and is awaiting a Preliminary Hearing in the District Court.
