Lee County, Florida – Homicide Investigation Underway

On Monday, June 29, 2009, at 4:17 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a medical assistance call. The caller stated there was a body in the road near the intersection of Yellowbird Drive and Blackstone Drive. Deputies responded to the scene where Emergency Medical Service personnel pronounced the black male dead at the scene.
Due to the nature of the incident, detectives and forensics technicians with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit arrived to continue the investigation. The unidentified victim has been released to the District 21 Medical Examiner and an autopsy will be performed to confirm cause of death. No other details are available for release at this time.
